I prefer the real deal just because I love the smell of fresh pine and it feels more authentic. But I have no problem with keeping a nice artificial tree handy when good real trees are in short demand or too pricey. I think the pre-lit trees look wonderful, but know of too many people who had problems once a few bulbs went out (there is NO SUCH THING as a strand of lights that will work even when bulbs burn out...especially after several bulbs have burned out...the alternative; get a pre-lit with LED lights).

I wish I had room for a tree. I'd pick a real one so I can have that Christmas smell in my home.
