They came close in 2007 and there is no reason why they won't be right back in the mix in 2008. The Brewers have the added advantage of playing in a division with no single dominant team which will be a distinct advantage for them.

Realistically, none. Despite their above average season last year, they won't manage to get past the Cubs, and may even end up in third. Even in a weak division, the Cubs have a better chance of winning it than the Brewers. Fielder will hit the sophomore slump hard, the pitching will let them down, and the talent will not mature enough to win the division. They haven't gotten anywhere since they joined the NL Central and it'll be years still before they win it.

The Brewers should have won the NL Central last year if it weren't for two different extended losing streaks. Even if Sheets gets injured AGAIN the Brewers have five very good pitchers to fall back on. The bullpen may not have very star quality but it is extremely deep. If they can pull off one more move for either Rolen or Ethier they will be easily the best team in the central.

I don''t think the NL Central is very strong. Doug Melvin every year has improved the Brewers team and I for see him making another big move. Look for them to go after a left fielder/third baseman who can hit for average and is an above average defensive player. They have a lot of starting pitching, so you may see one of their pitchers getting the boot.

I really do like the Brewers chances, especially if Gagne can be a sufficient closer. Think of this, Turnbow in the 8th and Gagne in the 9th, "the steroid brothers."

Anyways, I think the Cubs and their monstrous budget is no match for the Brewers farm system and I like cheering for the underdog!

The only reason they were so close with the Cubs last year was because the Cubs had a very late start with a crappy beginning, plus Soriano was out for a bit. This year they're going to be in full force and taking the NL Central by storm.

Sadly I have to say good. Most of the teams in the NL Central have not made any major improvements and as a Cardinals fan I have to say I'm not sure what is going on. Edmonds, Eckstein and Taguchi out, but what has come in? Cash? Am I supposed to cheer about that?

Not real good... Remember how bad they were once Sheets got hurt? Frankly, they don't have the starting pitching to win... Watch out for the Reds and Cubs.... Reds have some great young talent.

Not too bad. The Cubs and Astros are having good off-seasons too. The Brew Crew are definite contenders. My projected standing;

Cubs
Brewers
Reds
Astros
Cardinals
Pirates

Not very good. They totally choked last year and let it slip away. The Astros and the Cubs have both improved and it's going to be a 2-way between them.
