If the authorities find proof that escorts exchange sexual favors for money, they get arrested, just like the prostitutes they are. The trick is getting the proof. They do "stings" every so often.

In order for sex with an escort to be legal, money cannot be asked for or exchanged for purely a sex act. Courts have ruled there needs to be at least 60 minutes of companionship with an escort before having sex. Extra money cannot be exchanged for sex. Typically, money for a date must be paid for upfront.

Escorting is legal because escorting is dating for hire. As long as she's just a charming dinner date or arm candy for an event, fine. This is why escorts can advertise openly. They're not selling sex, supposedly.
Once she renders sexual services, she has crossed the line and is committing prostitution. The hard part is proving she did so.

No, under the law, escorts are only accompanying an individual to social events, prostitution is only sex in exchange for money.

Escorts are generally prostitutes who mask their activities by saying their buyers are paying for "time and companionship" and that anything more that happens is "consensual" and unrelated to the money spent.

because in prostitution, the government doesnt get their cut of the money made. so they made a job type that is legal but instead of promoting it as type of prostitution, they promote it as a dating service.....but really....nobody technically buys a women for the night and not want something from it.

Escorts are SUPPOSED to just get paid for a DATE...not sex. Sex is still illegal in our country however I'm sure there are many escorts that have sex with their clients.
