it's called artificial insemination.
more than one egg can be inserted... But normally Dr's wouldn't do that. and it would be cost prohibitive. Besides. It would produce fraternal twins.. not identical twins.
$10,000.00 - 25,000.00 depends on where you go, and the quality of the work done.

Its called IVF, In Vetro Fertilization.
All the people who are saying it is called artificial insemination are bonkers, and have obviously never had any experience in the industry.
I am pregnant for the second time via IVF right now.
Yes, they usually put in more than one embryo, but not to "get twins", more because there is such a high chance that they will not stick. Most doctors put 2-3 and in some cases 3+.
There is an increased chance of twins using IVF.
My first pregnancy, they put 2 in and I had twins.
My second they put 1 in (they wanted to put 2 in again but we didnt want twins again) and 1 took.
I should mention that I am the healthy surrogate mother, which accounts for the success rate.
Cost: $10K+ depending on the clinic, with no gurantee that it will work.

IVF or invitro fertilization.
It costs about $15,000 to $30,000 per try.
They can transfer back more than one egg at a time. For women over 35, they often transfer back 3-5 eggs to find that 2, 1 or even none have implanted.
If you are younger, you can ask they transfer 2-3 eggs back in the hopes that more than one will implant into a viable pregnancy.
FYI - artifical insemination is when they use a catheter and donor sperm to inseminate a woman. Another phrase for it is IUI or intrauterine insemination. Much cheaper than IVF, but only the regular stats for twins.

IVF - Invitro Fertilization. Usually, the doctors will place 3-6 embryos (sperm and egg combined) in your uterus. I had IVF 2 times (4 eggs at once) and was lucky to have 1 baby with each time. I know it can be expensive, but I had great insurance.
Good Luck!

It's called IVF. They usually put more than one, but that doesn't mean you will definitely get twins because not all of the embryos will successfully implant every time. The cost starts at 10,000, but insurance can help. I believe I heard from some woman that she got a government grant to help, but that depends on your state law and income level. You could ask at a fertility clinic for more info on financial assisstance for the cost of IVF. Good luck!

Are you talking about IVF (In vitro fertilization)? They certainly can fertilize more than one egg. In fact, most cases of IVF until recently, they almost always use 2 eggs. However, in most cases, they get either 1 or zero babies at the end. Twins are more likely produced by fertility medications. Costs vary tremendously depending on what your fertility issue is.
