As far as free games go the best one I've played is Tales Of Pirates and I've checked out most of them for at least 10 levels or so. Maple Story is extremely popular though, I just couldn't get in to it.
WoW, Guild Wars, and Auto Assault are really fun though if you're willing to pay.
Some other popular ones are Fiesta Online, Dream Of Mirror Online, Last Chaos, Anarchy Online, and Silk Road.

If you don't mind paying a one-off fee of around £15 ($30 approx.) then I would definitely go for the first Guild Wars game, Guild Wars: Prophecies (on the box, it only says Guild Wars). It's fantastic, better graphics than World of Warcraft, and if you enjoy playing Runescape, you'll love it.

runescape is only an RPG
you should move on and play MMORPGs
it gives u a list of all the mmorpgs games there and also has their rating. see which one suits u best =P
i currently play guild wars and maplestory. i used to play ragnarok, counter strike, and gunbound
they r awesome

i used 2 b gd on runescape.......got bored...... so heres sum good stuff (all free)....... there.com, imvu.com, lastchaos, gunzonline the duel, also guild wars is great nut u hav 2 buy it 4 15 pound first.

well, i usually play neopets or if you like wolves, go to wolfquest.org and dowload a demo and the real game is coming out thursday or if u dont like any of those go to bored .com
