I mean, they put the horse collar rule in specifically for him because he broke 3 players legs and injured another doing it in the 2004 season... yet he continues to do it. I don't think a one game suspension is enough for a player who continuosly and blatenly disregards the welfare of his opponents. What do you think? Can you name a dirtier player?

The horse collar rule was put in place before the start of the 2005 season. This is the 3rd year it has been in place.

Cowboy fan here. He is a dirty player. I personally think he was overrated even when he first came in the league and now everyone is starting to rate him where he belongs. He is constantly getting late hits that never is called.
Dirtiest player I would have to give it to Green Bay's Charles Martin that took out McMahon is 86. I was 9 years old playing pee-wee football and just remember my pops ripping me a new one that I better not ever do a cheap shot like that.

I wouldn't say he's the dirtiest playing today, or all time. The horse collar is a shltty play, but he does it, because he has no speed and constantly finds himself behind the ball carrier, grabbing for whatever he can - unfortunately, it doesn't even get called half the time.
dirtiest player ever (I'm not counting old time football, Conrad Dobler, or Chuck Bednarik, when that type of play was the rule, not the exception), was probably anyone who played for the Raiders in the 70's -dirtiest team ever.
Today, I go with Brian Dawkins - he's a very good safety, but late hits more than any other 2 players in the league combined. Late hits are very intentional, and I don't think I have ever seen him flagged for one.

He's know for his strong hands and his ability to pull someone down with them, that's how he made it into the NFL and has become a Pro Bowl safety. It's not as easy to change a style of tackling as people think. He has always tackled that way, and it becomes a natural reflex, and up until two seasons ago, it wasn't against the rules. Just because he got suspended doesn't mean he's a dirty player, or even the dirtiest. I do hope you know there have been plenty of players who have been suspended for far worst things on the field than that. I mean think about it. Out of all the tackles he's made in the past 47 games, 4 just happened to be by the horse collar.

Personally, I don't consider that a dirty play. It's no more dirty than a facemask and that happens pretty much every game. It's a physical contact sport, and people are going to get hurt - period. Anyways, he's nowhere near as dirty of a player as Romanowski or just about any o-lineman or defensive player from the 60's and 70's.

Retards sticking up for him: That rule was made because of Roy Williams. He injured players with that tackle. If I remember correctly he broke T.O.'s leg. He knows the rule was put in because of him, but he continues to break it. He deserves what he gets. He sucks anyway.
That's an extremely dangerous tackle, as are helmet to helmet shots. If you people were one of the ones that had your career ended with injuries from these types of tackles you'd be singing a different tune.

Like I said before in a previous post, he had a lot of nerve to throw his hands up in the air as if to say "I didn't do anything wrong" after the ref threw a flag after the violation was committed. Williams has injured several players with that dirty play in the past. He has already been warned by the NFL to NOT do that kind of tackle again. He got what he deserved in my opinion. Also, I think his career is already spiraling in Dallas seeing that his jersey is the only one on clearance. Don't be surprised to see his butt in another team next year.
As for another player? Albert Haynesworth of the Titans comes to mind. After what he did to Guerode (spelling is wrong...I know) last season and he is still having anger management issue problems on the field.

First of all Roy Williams plays saftey and not cornerback. He is not a dirty player nor is he known for being one.
Can you name a dirtier player? Yes.

I'm not sure I'd go as far as calling him the dirtiest ever but what he did was wrong. Now if he had broken Donovan's legs I might be singing a different story. Just kidding but I hate the Eagles.

It is a completely stupid rule. Dictating how a player is supposed to tackle another player is just plain gay. Clearly you never played the game.
Saying that Williams is a dirty player is further proof that you don't know what the hell you are talking about.

rodney harrison has that nickname. he's been known for cheap shots and, as of this year, taking HGH
before 2005, roy williams' tackles weren't "illegal". players just started to whine because they felt it was a disadvantage to be pulled down from behind.
*_*
williams broke TO's leg (when TO was with the eagles), but that was more because of the way he landed on TO's legs rather than the grab at the back of the neck. seems like a play that really shouldn't be penalized any more than hitting a QB in the back when he's in the pocket.
bill romonawlski would be another one with total disregard.
