Usually the doctor can give a good guess based on the heartbeat (higher is girl, lower is boy) but you can't really tell for sure that way. The only way to be absolutely sure is to have a full ultrasound at 4mths and hope the doctor sees the actual sexual organs. They thought I was a boy because of my low heart rate but it turned out I was a girl with a heart murmur. Surprise!!

According to the old wives tale it would be a boy. I believe above 150 is a girl. My daughter's heartbeat was always above 160, and so far my son's is always in the 120's and 130's, so for me it's been true.

That won't tell you. My son's heartbeat was in that area so you just never know until the ultrasound of course. You know they have 3-d ultrasounds and stuff to tell you what it look like. It just depends on what hospital you go to and they cost more and Medicare might not cover it.

That's really an old wives tale. You can't tell by the hb. I was told by a doctor, several times that I was having a boy until we had the u/s and found out it was a girl.

Although the old wives tale says a high heart beat means a girl it's not been proved to be true as a high heart rate can not be used for sexing a fetus.

Heart rate does not change with the sex of the baby. All babies in utero have fast heart rates, usually between 110 and 160.
You´ll just have to wait and see

you can't judge whether it's a boy or a girl just by listening to the heartbeat!

These aren't actually going to tell you what she's having but they are fun, especially after you know what the baby is. I have had right answers and wrong answers.
