Lots of heartache for everyone involved. Affairs tend to be exposed over time and there is lots of pain for all affected, the spouse, the children, everyone.

Unhappy? Either get help for your marriage or get out before you bring a third party into this mess.

My Husband had an affair. He dropped the other woman when I discovered his actions and threw him out. It was a horrible emotional trauma is so many ways. It was a difficult road to rebuild trust and for our marriage to recover.

There are boards out there for "the other woman", also full of pain. There are also support boards for those trying to rebuild after an affair, try reading on one of those. The pain lasts for years.

It only takes moments to destroy trust and ruin your reputation. It will take years to rebuild after an affair becomes discovered.

Overall, about half of marriages survive initially after discovery of an affair, but it takes a massive amount of effort on both spouses and around 2 years to really recover. The majority of affairs do not survive exposure, and of those that do end up in marriage, there is statistically a much higher divorce rate than other marriages. It's just not a very good foundation to build a marriage on later. Some do and survive this, but there will be lots of heartache to get there as you have to destroy another in the process.

My ex wife had an affair. That's why she's ex. It wasn't just the affair, it was all the frills that were part of her affair. We had two children, and had been married for 17 years. Our marriage died a year later, and legally ended after another year. Her actions changed my love to hate, and even now, after 17 years, I still yearn to harm her. Except for the fact that she is the mother of my children, I would have. Toward the end of the marriage, she slept with my brother too. He has since died in a hit and run accident. So, at least I no longer hate him.

I had an affair on my first husband. I married very young and wasn't ready to be married. I met someone else and thought that the grass would be greener on the other side. Well it wasn't. I ended up leaving my husband for this other man and as soon as I did it, the guy didn't want me anymore. Well after that relationship I dated a guy for 3 years and he cheated on me several times. It hurt so bad! I got what I deserved though. They say what goes around comes around, well it did!!
Now 12 years later I am on my second marriage. I am so happy and I would never cheat on my husband!!! I learned my lesson.

I kinda did, My husband, best friend and her husband decided to screw around together "just for fun". This was a while ago. The rules were simple. Ask permission, no actually sex, no below the belt. Well it was a disaster. She became infatuated with my hubby calling him ever night on his way home from work and staying on the phone with him for an hour or more while I was at work. Her husband started telling me we should just trade spouses and that he was falling in love with me. My husband and I were not in a good place, however, we still loved each other very much. Well, long story short, they just got back together after being split up for over a year and we dont talk anymore. But the worst part is I feel like a complete jacka** about it to this day and it breaks my heart that I did that to my husband. Affairs suck, even ones that are out in the open. I thank the lord everyday that he kept my husband abd I strong through the whole thing and I regret it greatly.

Well 18 years later and 3 kids my husband had a affair with my friend. In fact I tried to make it work for the sake of the kids and the time we have put into it. But it was one lie after another, he was still seeing her, so I kicked him out. For him to return a few months later bugging me he missed me and the kids, but after a couple of weeks he was back at it again.
To make a long story short, strike three and he was out for good. It's been a year and a half and I finally starting to get my life back on track with some help from friends and family. He got divorce papers delivered to him for christmas.

Well if u wanna call this an affair:
I met someone talked to him, fell in love w/ him, told my husband, asked for a divorce, then banged other guy. So u take it as u may. The turn out is so far so good, all I need is the husband to agree w/ the divorce and quit trying to get me back so I can be happy!

Are you planning one? They usually turn out bad. Someone almost always gets hurt. Yes I've been on both sides of it. I was hurt and I did hurt. Always regretted the pain I caused.
