Just because I have a maid who comes in every other week to clean my house, people assume I'm a snob that has nothing better to do with my money. I have five kids, six if you count my husband! :) I have a full time job, all the kids are in extracurricular activities, and I don't want to spend every spare second doing laundry and cleaning!! It doesn't make me a bad person, does it??

Just wondering...

We are fortunate enough to live a very comfortable life, financially speaking, but I would never dream of throwing that in someone's face. It's just annoying that I can't carry on a conversation with someone talking about how stressed they are about having to keep their house clean during the holidays, because if I mention it, they just say "Oh, how nice for you." or something catty like that and immediately turn cold!

No, Ms. Foo Foo, I think it makes you smart. Just as long as paying for the maid doesn't impact your finances too much.

If you can afford it, great. My mom had 6 kids and had to do all of the work herself but she didn't have an outside job either.
She really had no time to spend individually with us since she was so busy cooking and cleaning.I think it is more important to have some fun with your family.
