My company’s policy is to log out every night and over the weekend but never turn off the computers because IT can update stuffs on your PC (they can remotely control your computer). I think this would definitely slow the computer, so I restart my PC once in a while.

It is extremely unlikely that a computer would be slow just because it was never switched off. I have 2 PCs the first is never switched off the second is switched off and on all the time. There is no obvious link between speed and whether the PC is switched off or not.

That may be an issue yes because hardware performs slower when its hot and it certainly doesn't extend the life of the computer. Ontop of that you have to see if her registry isn't clogged up, spam flying all around your desktop, viruses or whatever. And don't forget, since your coworker keeps leaving her computer on, her fan collects more and more dust that will get stuck in her heatsink which will cause her computer to go slower..and slower...... .... and slower.... .. ........... and slower........ ........... ........... (BSOD/FREEZE lolj/k) everyday. Tell her in a polite manner that she has to shut her computer off and that it could possible damage the computer if she doesn't. Remember, there could be a multitude of other factors that are causing her computer to be going slow but leaving her computer on doesn't help =\
See ya!

this oculd definetly be a result of her computer lagging. the computer needs to be turned off on weekends to flush it's system so to say. if i were you i would kindly suggest to her that turning the computer off before she leaves would be a good idea. besides she would be upset if a horrible storm knocked out the electricity and she lost some information she may had open.

No. Just running during the weekend is no reason for it no reason for it to slow down. Restarting once a week would have the same effect.

Yeh she does not have to constantly turn it off every day, but it would be better for the comp to turn it off more often than she does
