Carter's drunken brother Billy was better than Bush.

While Carter was not a very good president he was head and shoulders over Dubya. Carter was honest, mayebe that was part of his problem, Dubya wouldn't know the truth if it bit him on the butt. Both are/were incompetent for the job they held and surrounded themselves with people that weren't very competent either. Carter had little or no corruption in his Administration where Bush has tons of it. Carter came across as humble where Bush seems arrogant. Carter seems to be more caring and willing to help the less fortunate where Bush is a snotty rich kid who doesn't care about anyone but himself and his filthy rich friends.

Neither will go down as being a good President but I believe Carter will end up ahead of GWB when all is said and done.

Carter was better then bush but then a toad would also be better

Carter is a good man who made some mistakes and was unlucky. Bush is a turd who inherited a roaring economy and took 6 yrs to kill it. Also squandered all the good will of the world after 9/11 by shamelessy using it as an excuse to finish daddy's war which he has done a half *** job of so far

Unfortunately, Carter was 'before his time', especially regarding his Energy Plan with the goal of getting the US away from our dependence on OPEC. His Energy Plan focused on alternative energy sources and offered tax incentives for individuals to install solar systems and insulate their homes.

In contrast, Bush stated that the US is "addicted to oil" and that our energy problems today were because we didn't have an Energy Policy before. What he didn't mention was the reason for that was because Reagan/Bush, Sr. dismantled the one Jimmy Carter had implemented 30 years ago. Bush's 'new & improved' Energy Plan provides $8 billion dollars in 'welfare' payments to the oil business, and rebates to buy gas-guzzling Hummers.

Carter knew 'staying the course' during the Iranian Hostage Crisis would probably cost him re-election... yet he did and every one of those hostages came home alive. "Staying the course" for Bush means that many of our soldiers have come home in body bags. Which is better??

Carter was a much better president. I will give you a
simple reason why. On a global scale this current
administration has derailed the US single handedly.
Record deficit, record crime rate, record housing
disaster, record this, record that. Unless you need
brain surgery, then you will notice, that the country at
large does not like this man. And people love Jimmy
Jam Carter. Especially Down South. Take note.
So your question is practically irrelevant. Mr. Repub....

Bush is better.

And for the folks who say Carter is better I encourage you to do a deep study of the role Carter had in the mess that went on in the 80s and 90s (and in some of these countries to this very day) with what went wrong in Ethiopia, Somalia, Nicaragua, and Iran. And those are just 4 of the countries Jimmy messed up with his Mike Huckabee like Foreign policy

Carter, retro is right if we had pursued the energy policy that was introduced then we would be much better off. Wonder if we would be in this war.

Carter was better. If Americans had listened to Carter there would be no energy crisis today.

At least Carter was a diplomat and peace maker. And he didn't lie.
