Change the oil and use a Mitsubishi oil filter. Fram filters are not good for a Mits. After warming the motor to operating temperature, after the oil change, with the car parked in neutral, rev the motor to 2,500 rpm and hold it steady there for three minutes to air bleed the lifters. This works many times, but there's always a chance you will need to clean the lifters or replace them.

I have a 98 that does the same thing, the engine only has but 3,000 miles on it, Nice to know mine isn't the only one that does it because the guy who rebuilt the engine was about to get something for it.
I would raise my hand but you wouldn't see it if I did

yea it happens to mine but its not suppose to if your motors realtively new you should get that checked lifter tick can be fixed
