While I never used the excuse that the dog ate my homework, there were plenty of other excuses that I did use. They ranged from "I left it in my dad's car" to "I spilled my milk on it this morning". Most of the time the teacher would roll their eyes and tell me to bring it in the next day but one time a subsitute actually called my dad at work to ask him to bring my homework that was "in his car" to school. That one took a lot of explaining when I got home not to mention the two weeks of being grounded.

A rabbit ate my homework.
That's why I don't trust rabbits anymore. They ruined my education and that's why I'm begging on street corners now. Those bunnies may look cute, but they can ruin you and take everything you have.
That's why Elmer Fudd is always rabbit hunting. He is trying to get revenge. Did you ever notice how uneducated he sounds? That's because Bugs ate his homework when he was a little hunter.

No but I told my teacher that my cat walked all over my homework. Which was actually true. I used to use that one quite a lot.

Hey it did actually happen when I was in a foster home and I had pieces of it to prove to her.. It was rough but other than that I did all my work and its very frustrating when your own child decides to be a pain and not to work
