Looking how he played last game (Lazio - Juventus 2-3), his career is far from being over! :)
He's going to play in both Euro 2008 and WC 2010, if he's in great shape like now. I think Donadoni has the common sense to call him, eventually (I don't know who's going to be in charge for WC, of course).
By ethics, morals and morale point of view, he sure DESERVE to play, even just because he wants and he likes the assignment (playing for the Nazionale) and doesn't look at it like a load to carry, like *somebody else* do...

Materazzi is magical. He is God in football-player form! I have truly run out of words to describe him. He is just a legend. The man is a living legend. He just creates magic on the field and scores beautiful goals. He is professional, humble and creative on the field. I have the utmost respect for him. In contrast, Del Piero is a cocky and arrogant fool. He has no respect or loyalty. I will never respect that man. However, I must, unwillingly, give credit where credit is due and admit that he does play well and scores some great goals, but I also find that he lacks consistency.

I doubt it. The question now is will Donadoni even call him up for Euro? Del Piero said he'll only go as a forward. The coach would be dumb not to bring him. He's still got speed and is better striker than Gila, Quagliarella, Lucarelli, and Palladino.

Italy should bring back all of their old guys for 2010: Maldini, Totti, Del Piero, and maybe their manager can still play.

No! he will be old by then and wonot be very useful for Italy I think the young players like Guessepe Rossi should take by chance in 2010 instead of Del Pierro

U can't be sure of that, coz if he doesn't show for his club.. how can he play for italy.. that too in 2010?
but to be honest, he's better than injury prone ronaldo.. RIGHT NOW. In their primes, Ronaldo was the best striker to ever play football.

It was Dino Zoff who won the world cup in 82. not Zenga. he was a jester compared to the majestic Zoff. get your facts straight

if he does return, it will be in a supporting role....coming off the bench for a spark, will not have the legs to compete with the young guys for 90 minutes.....
