Was she killed instantly, or did she linger for some time but eventually die of the injury before the end of the calendar year? If it was the latter, the account wasn't that far off, although it should have said she died of injuries resulting from being hit by a speedboat earlier that year. And would people be making jokes about it if she'd been hit by a car?

Ha ha I just read it, you'd think they'd be able to work out that if you get hit by a speed boat it's probably going to be the reason you died that same year.
