I think you'd get something out of a Saturday Night Live sketch, maybe you can find it on Youtube.com wherein Chevy Chase and Richard Pryor call each other names. It might be known as the honky sketch but I'm not sure.

I don't find honky offensive but then again I'm not 100% sure if it means racist or just white person.

p.s. yep I find the "n" word offensive. I'd take less offense to being called an a.h. or a m.f.er

It gets used loads of times in American telelvision programmes and films but usually by one black man saying it to another, but I think for a white person to say it to a black guy would be considered offensive and similarly for a black man to call a white man 'honky'. Unless the two people are freinds and the words are said in fun.

Well a black person can say it to another black person but if a whit person calls a black person a ****** it's the most offensive thing ever. So technically that's a right black people have that white people don't.

Isn't that racist in itslef, nobody should be aloud say it, weather they be 50 Cent, Nelly or a random Chav on the street. If that doesn't happen I will begin using the word in my everyday speech.

It was never offensive until the do-gooders and the PC brigade came up with it as a reason for someone to keep a QUANGO going so they used this as an excuse.
As a result, it was deemed "Offensive" and what for years had been a friendly name especially for children's dolls, pets - and even the picture of a black doll on Robertson's Marmalade all had to go, just to satisfy the whims of the do-gooders - and the biggest laugh of it all is that even the 'black' people always say they can't understand what all the fuss was about. All except, of course, those whose job it is to find such stupidities in order to justify their position of authority ! ! !

It depends on the individual. I am white but find the word you mention along with p*ki very offensive. But I am not offended by the use of pommy, honky....erm can't think of any others off the top of my head.

Every person i've met who is black has never taken it offensively.
I guess it would totally depend on how you used it. If you mean it to be offensive, its offensive.
If you dont mean it offensively, it isnt.
Just what i think, but i don't know.

i hate the word and would never use it. i hate it when black people use it. i just hate it full stop. honky is a joke word, couldn't possibly offend anyone.

if you saw stephen k. amos on live at the apollo last night, he used a word from the 1970's that people used to use in the uk (ni9-no9, to follow you're code ) another from the same intolerant decade was s@mbo. these words are far worse in my opinion.

see i dunno this either. Black people seem to call it each other all the time, and its in all the rap tunes. But if a white person says it the country is outraged!!
So if your black and dont find it offensive and black people call each other it....it can't be that offensive right!?
