Would this not represent responsibility for decisions as well as actions as the conservatives claim to base the foundation of their forum?

The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.

No.

Should you have to pay for a lawsuit I file against you because you _may_ have violated my rights?

I am still waiting for somebody to provide the name, date and circumstances a specific persons right were violated.

Three words destroy that logic just as the same three words can and will restore the Liberties that were voted away with that Patriot Act junk.
We The People.
It is not the Republicans or the Democrats or the Independents or the Left,Right,Center and Not Voting.
It is as always in a Democratic Republic,
We The People.
We either allow such laws to be enacted or we repeal such laws that are not in the best interests of Liberty, Freedom and the Pursuit of happiness.
Mind you they were smart peoples that wrote those words, pursuit of happiness does not mean guarantee of happy, it means that We The People can Pursue a Happiness that the Majority agree on.
We the People.
Got a complaint or a valid grievance with a law or act that was passed while you and I sat and watched, then look in a mirror and you will see who is responsible.
We the people.

I don't care about the government watching me. They can watch me all they want. I'm not doing anything wrong.

How is this any different from the F.B.I. sending a secret agent to infilitrate a buisness suspected of being a front for drug sales? Or an undercover cop pretending that they will help blow people up? It is just using more high tech methods.

A million a week? Sign me up for a couple years!!!

Oh, and by the way, terrorists who are prisoners of America have better food, better rooms, and better health care than they would running loose on the streets in Iraq.

A million a week? Sign me up for three years!!!

And "Big Brother" is impossible! a government like that can not remain stable.

A million a week? Sign me up for four years!!!
And about George Bush: Every single president has been called the "worst president ever" by someone. I believe he is just doing what he believes is right regardless of how much people yell at him. And guess what? I admire that. A lot.

Republicans and democrats don't always just vote for whatever their party thinks is a good idea, so you can't entirely blame republican administrations for their decisions, and vice versa for democrats.
However, we all pay taxes the same, why should we ever change that? Don't you vote?

You make it sound as if it hasn't gone on before...lol

Fact is until the patriot you didn't know they were doing it all along. Rest assured, if you aren't a terrorist, your rights have not been violated. I don't care a bit they may be listening... because in a pinch, at least I can have someone else order my pizza!

since Nancy Pelosi was on the Joint Congressional Oversight Committee in 2002 and thus knew about the "spying" and took no action, should the Democrats pay??

So far there is one person who falls into that category. He spent two weeks in prison and got a $2 million settlement. Sign me up.

I love the replies. Seth D shows his intellect by 1. not knowing how to use the spell checker and 2. Giving the trite reply, if you are not a terrorist you have nothing to worry about. Ask that of the hundreds of prisoners that were innocent and still held at Gitmo for years. Ask Valerie Plame who not only lost her rights but also lost her CIA cover. Ask that of the thousands of innocent people who had their phone tapped illegally. Making the Republicans pay may not be a practical solution but they should be held accountable for letting this president run roughshod on our rights. Hopefully they will pay next election day.

No! But you bring up a good point! Maybe your parent should pay a fine for creating such a stoopid daughter.

No, and that is a really stupid idea. Our already jammed courts would explode.

If you don't like what a legislator does, vote them out. Novel thought, right?
