"There's an old movie called The Lion King," he continued. "There's a scene in the movie where a monkey hits the lion over the head and the lion says, 'what did you do that for' and the monkey says, 'it doesn't matter, it's in the past.'
"Doesn't matter, it's in the past."
What a DIP! Good Luck Michigan fans because you will need it with someone who has faith in the movie Lion King!

Give me a break hub! He new in the back of his mind that the Michigan job was open way before the Pitt Game even started. He knew if the offer came he would take it. Im sure he had his agent breathing down his neck about it also. I don't blame him for leaving its just the way it all went down. If we would have beaten Pitt & won the National title do you think he would have stayed???? NOW WAY!!!

Picked up the phone & called Michigan?? LMAO He was waiting on Michigan to call him!!! He is not that great of a coach to let the great Michigan U. sit around & wait for his decision. If they offered before the Pitt game he would have taken it!!!

Brandon B whatever you heard is crazy because WVU & people in WV came up with millions of dollars for him to stay the first time when he had the oppurtunity to go to Alabama! WVU couldnt have offered him anymore to go to one of the best coaching jobs in the country. And he was going no matter what WVU would have come up with!

King Midas, I dont have a problem with him leaving its the way he did it and thats why people are angry. Then making comments its because of the WV people that made him leave is a total lie. I don't think ive heard anyone say we was a college power house in football. And we are better than a mid major so that shows your ingnorance about college football. Did you just start watching college football? We have nothing to cheer for in WV except WVU football so emotions get out of hand. No its not right to throw trash cans at players but thats drunken fools that can't handle there liquor. So please do not say all WV are fools. As for them taking his name of his hometown sign Im fine with that. D-Rod would had been waiting on Michigan to call & they called at a bad time for WVU fans. If it would have been before the Pitt game or after the bowl game things would be a lil different. So throw your sterotypes all you want because at least the people of WV stick together we don't stab each other

Oh by the way King Midas our Basketball program is just fine how about Michigan's? And if our football team can get Terry Bowden then that will be better than a liar that hides behind his agent & won't comment.

Well, he was thinking of leaving last year too! But I think he'll stick at Michigan cause you don't get jobs like that and go somewhere else other than the NFL! But, if he can't be "Overrated" State University, he'll be gone in 2 years maybe 3! So yes, WVU fan, he was gonna leave you anyway, so turn the page and be happy he's gone!

Hey Hub, football is like that. Someone usually takes the blame for losses and the coach is usually the one who has to have big shoulders and a small ego. Looks like Rich had neither. Plus he took full responsibility for the Pitt loss on the postgame radio lockerroom show. So, it's not the fans fault that he has no cahones or class, it's all on him. I can't wait till the people in Michigan start calling for his head. Plus, he will NEVER, EVER be welcome in WV again. Heck, his hometown even took down the signs that said "Grant Town: Home of coach Rodriguez".

I am glad that the man upgraded to a better school historically where he can get the kind of recruits and players that i think will thrive in his system.

I heard on ESPN this morning that WVU was not willing to give him certain things he wanted so that he would stay at WVU. They include

1.100,000 extra in bonus money for his ASSISTANT COACHES
2. That WVU waive the $5 fee that it charges high school coaches to come to the game.

I think that there was one more thing that he requested and in my opinion those are not the demands of a selfish person, so if WVU did let him leave for such petty reasons then I am glad that he left.

In my life I have never heard of so many people think that WVU is a major conference school that can compete with the big boys year in and year out. Here is yet but another blow to your hopes and dreams that you are nothing more than a huge mid major school. Rich saw an opportunity to better himself and his situation more than he could if he would have stayed in small WVU so he took his chance. The amazing thing is the behavior of West Virginians when he announced he was leaving, destroying and defacing his signs in his home town, like that is doing anything but proving how stupid, retarded and immature the people of West Virginia really is. You should have learned after your basketball coach left, now go burn some more couches,or go get sued again for hitting opposing coaches with trash cans during games.

I thought that was a pretty lame line as well. However, you have to give credit to Rodriguez for building the Mountaineers into a highly competitive program and he did it from scratch. I was surprised that he took the Michigan job. I thought he had a better chance of going to the championship game with WVU. The going gets tougher at Michigan.

The fans at WVU turned their backs on Rodriguez after the Pitt game and that is why he picked up the phone and called Michigan. Pastalong thought he was bluffing. Coach Rod thought he wasnt wanted and thats why he left. So look at yourself in th mirror and take a good look. WVU fans have nobody to blame but themselves. GO BLUE from a fan in West Virginia.
