On family-dinner day once a week I spend about 30 minutes preparing a roast with roast vegetables for six, cheese etc to follow. On other days I spend about 10 minutes preparing breakfast (porridge or egg, etc) and another 10 minutes on lunch - for myself. First Mate spends about the same on her own lunch etc, but I can prepare breakfast or lunch for both of us in the same time. Normally First Mate also spends about 30 minute on our evening meal, usually of meat and six veges. So, working independently we'd spend 70 minutes, or co-operatively about 50 minutes - a little more if we explore an exotic recipe. We must improve our efficieny! I learned kitchen speed as a kid, coming home from school to cook for Mum and myself in the absence of Dad at the war - so "mucking about" left me little time to waste! Any job can expand to fill the time you give to it. Good luck!

This would vary depending on the day, or if it is a major dinner like Christmas...but usually no more than an hour for dinner, unless I am cooking something that requires longer. Breakfast and lunch combined are way less than an hour.

Depends - if we are staying at home in the evening then about 1/2 hours and if we are out about half an hour.
On Sundays I spend about 2/3 hours cooking.

That's why me and my boyfriend do not cook, it's a waste of time..we have the money so we do take out, at least 5 days a week and we get good take-out, not fast food!! Last night, we had mimi's..i had chicken enchilda's with black beans with blue cheese crumbles on top...mmmmm...the night before, we had outback..my honey had the prime rib and i had the chicken with broccoli and we shared a salad

Not long enough!
I love to cook but the prep takes no real time to do if you have cleared the decks.
Come round to mine and I'll take a load off for you!! lol
