To a certain degree. If you love music, as an example, then you probably have an ear enough to know the difference between say Rap and Classical.
You don't have to be good at creating what you are passionate about but you should have some clue as to its basics.
I am not good at pool. I enjoy playing it but it isnt a passion.
I am creatively passionate but sort of a "Jack of all Trades Master of None" because I have way too many creative interests.
The other side is experts. If you are a so-called "expert" and you get paid then you may be passionate about it. But in some cases the passion can die. Once a passionate hobby becomes a job and you HAVE to do it, it can become less passionate.
In the end the enjoyment of the thing is all that matters.
Hope that makes sense.

No, not really. If you're really bad at something, though, it'll probably be less of a passion and more of a frustration than anything else. But, no, I don't think you really need to be particularly good. You can be "okay" and still be passionate about whatever it may be.

No, you don't have to be good at something for it to be your passion. If you had to then no body would have one. With time will come knowledge and experience with experience comes better quality. If you truly like doing what it is you are doing then keep doing it (as long as its legal) and find a book or two to give you tips and information. Also it is a good idea that you remember that your harshest critic is yourself.

If you're not good at it, you won't like doing it, therefore you are not passionate about it. Take me for example, I'm good at everything, but that doesn't mean I'm passionate about everything. Now lets look at you, you're very bad at writing intelligent questions, are you passionate about writing intelligent questions? I think not. You don't have to be passionate about something you're good it, but you have to have atleast a small amount of skill and talent in something your passionate about.

If you were no good at it, but you loved it a lot, you might end up hiding that passion.
It would be a secret passion.

i wouldn't really say you have to be good at it.. i'd say, you just have to have the heart/interest for it.. There are people who have passion for a lot of stuff, but left kept hidden because either they are not good at it, or dont have the means to pursue it.
