Does anybody feed their baby Good Start Supreme Soy? Just went to doctor today and my son is on Prosobee and very constipated, and they said to try this. I don't think it will make a difference, but just wondering if anybody has used this formula and what they thought?

The reason why Good Start Normal is recommended is because it is based on Whey proteins instead of milk proteins. Whey is still milk, it's just broken down farther and makes it easier to digest. If it's easier to digest it will come out easier! The Soy formula from what I understand is also broken down into smaller bits more than other brands so same concept.

My guy is on the regular Good Start and has no issues with pooping and is growing just fine. Just remember to switch slowly, there are instructions on the inside of the Good Start label.

I used it for a while, and it worked great. After about a month and a half though, I switched to the store brand soy formula, and he did just as well ^_-

Cheers

I wouldn't use soy formula unless it was a matter of life or death. The formula we used was Milupa Aptamil and them Milumil. My doctor had never heard of it, so I took some for him to research and after he did he recommended it to all new Moms who couldn't breastfeed. I never had any constipation issues with any of mine (6 of them used this formula).

I know it's hard making the decisions that are best for our children. Ask the doctor if they have samples of this formula this may help make it easier.

Can I ask why you're on soy at all? Babies can have soy allergies/sensitivities, which might be involved here. I do! My soy allergy is much worse than my milk allergy.

My kids are grown, but I've heard many other mothers on this site suggest that for the same reasons.

My babies all drank soy...put in some dark caro syrup in the bottle of formula, (not every bottle) this should help. They also have suppositories for babies, and they do the trick.
