You have to start with small achievable goals so that you succeed. There is not point setting your goals if you have no way of achieving them. Yes have dreams but don't set unobtainable goals. Set small goals, little things you can do. Stretch yourself slightly but not so far that you fail.

Start small and build on success. Think about the desired end result, then break it down into small achievable steps and set goals.

The bad thing about having high hopes for ourselves is how we feel if we don't achieve them. But it really is better than to have tried and failed, than to just sit at home watching the television.
Start with something small and reasonable. Like if you'd always wanted to backpack through India, go do it for a couple of weeks. If you can't afford it now, start saving so that one day you can, that could be a goal in itself.
Once you get out and see a few things, if you're like me, you'll renew your spirit and find new ambition that you can use to start living up to your own high expectations.
A better life is possible, you just have to decide to live it.

I think every human being struggles with this very challenge at some point in their life. What is important is to sit down and really analyze what is it you FEAR that is keeping you from your dreams. Once you really get in touch with that which you fear you may be able to break it down realize that most anything we fear can be overcome and eventually it just seems so small or irrational, I think that is what needs to be donme with any fear in order to truly get over it.
Point being there is something you fear that is holding you back... Once you take the time to realize what it is, then you will be able to get past your blocks =) Hope this helps
Have a great holiday!!

give that up! dont think about that stuff. tell yourself that you can do it. picture yourself completing it. then dont hink about it again, except to be doing the task. you need to build more confidence in yourself. I used to be that way too. now I look at the positive. and if something stops me or gets in the way, I look at it as a challenge to overcome. I joined the military (you definately build your confidence there). whatever it is you want to do, get out there and do it! enjoy your life, enjoy your career. I'm currently working on my undergraduate, then on my way to medical school. best of luck to you!
