At one point, on the Corny Collins show, after they finish the Stricken Chicken, Link goes up to Amber, shows her a ring and says "It's time." Did he mean it's time for them to have sex?

It's the same idea as "pinning her".. it was a way to ask her to be his girlfriend.. similar to when a guy gives a girl his class ring in the 70's...

No! Definitely not! He meant that is was time for the two of them to officially go steady. When a boy gave a girl his class ring...that was a big deal!

I think he meant that it was time for her to start wearing his class ring or whatever ring he wears and thats kinda like a promise ring I think...just a symbol to mean that they are going steady...

I think it was more like a class ring, so it would be more like they were officially going steady. As best I understood it =)

Watch the original Hair Spray movie ...It makes more sense and there is a proper story to the film...
