Happy Tuesday! :) I'm officially starting my Christmas shopping today (UGH), so I have lists on the brain...

I think I will leave this question open-ended too...what would you like as your music-related gift this year? And this could be in terms of your favorite bands, the music world in general, or maybe something right here in R&P...it's up to you!

Master C - the first thing I saw when I logged on this morning was the word "emo" and I was thinking the same thing. LOL - great minds...

Mike - every year I ask for Russell Crowe under the tree and every year I'm disappointed. Oh well...

Rckets - I hear you about the get out of jail free card...yikes!

1) An MP3 player with the capacity for my several thousand songs.

2) A guarantee that Blackmore's Night will tour the UK again, and tickets!

3) More storage space for all my CDs {I'm rapidly running out of room!}.

4) New albums from Stevie Nicks, and Blackmore's Night {among others}.

5) To get a job designing cover art for albums, and other desigb work with my favourite bands.

6) And the big one :~

To suddenly discover that I can sing, find some musical friends to form a covers band {*must* include a flautist and fiddle player, and a pianist would be nice}, and have fun playing traditional pubs and fairs.

Edit :~

Happy Tuesday, Sookie :)
My dad's taking me Christmas shopping to one of the big markets tomorrow ~ I have to try *not* to spend money!

Happy Tuesday! I'm so glad we're pretty close to being done. It's funny, before I met Veronica I was the classic, literal Christmas Eve shopper. She is much more organized and it is awesome.

I want the new Franklin For Short record, but they're big jerks (well they're actually really nice guys) and make me wait until February. I've been waiting for about ten months since my friend showed me early rough mixes of the first cuts and I'm getting really impatient.

Same thing with Malkmus. Like 8 months ago I saw him play a set that was like 60% new material but I think that one doesn't come out until March.

I'm actually thinking that 2008 is going to produce some really great records, but I've never been particularly patient. I'm excited because as a part of a present to someone else we get to go see Built to Spill in February. Awesome.

I just remembered, the iTunes store could offer me the amazing gift of starting to sell the english version of the Peter Schilling tune Major Tom (Coming Home). It's been killing me that I can't just go grab that tune.

Since I’ve now converted to the church of Completionism, my goal is to fill in the blanks for all my favorite artists whose albums I don’t yet own or have been too lazy to procure. Consider this my early warning while your shopping starts in earnest.

KMFDM – Tohuvabohu
Blaqk Audio – CexCells
Rob Zombie - 20th Century Masters: Millennium Collection: The Best of Rob Zombie

There’s a bunch more that are escaping me for the time being, but I’ll add them as I go. The one thing I’d want more than anything would be the equivalent of the get out of jail free card for the R&P. I’m sick of living in fear and paranoia over every little item I say in here.

Mike - I'll concede Susanna Hoffs. I've moved on, lol.

Master C - I thought about that too, but the jokes are far too alluring to pass on.

Much like rckets, I need to add to the completion of a very important collection, my nine inch nails cds. I'm missing about 5 halos, some of the more recent ones mostly, there are so many remixes, it's hard to keep up with them all.

A guitar made by the dude that makes Matthew Bellamy's (Muse) guitars, that one with the touch pad is pretty amazing.

An idiot's guide to wiring keyboards, I want to add a small keyboard to a guitar (I saw somebody that had one of these once, and it was AWESOME), but I have no idea how keyboards are wired. I hate to crack open something and start fiddling around with no idea on what does what.

Surround sound for my stereo... Cause I need to rock LOUDLY!

Sookie, have fun with that shopping, may the prices be low and the crowds be tiny ;)

I would like to see a few good shows come to town. We have a few coming, but not many.
I'd also like a new hat. I collect hats like girls collect shoes and purses....it's ridiculous. Maybe a good Social Distortion or Descendents hat.
As far as R&P goes, I'd like to drop any use of the word emo for one month. This may be sort of an impulse item since I got on the computer this morning, but I don't care. It's on the list.

Peace and harmony (could we all agree to disagree on the definition of emo please??)

As for an actual gift though I'd say an IOU for Eagles floor tickets since they haven't announced a tour yet for support of "Long Road Out of Eden".

Good morning Sookie :)

Not sure, there's soo many things I want, lol

But if I had to ask Santa for one thing only this year, it would have to be the "No Thanks! '70s Punk Rebellion" [BOX SET]
I've been stalling forever to get this one.

Maybe a new MP3 adapter for my car stereo ... and that movie "Factory Girl", haven't added it to my DVD library yet.
