Check your warrenty and call the place where you got your computer from. If you got no warrenty or anything you might have to buy a new CD/DVD drive for your computer. Stuff happens and computers/computer parts just don't work anymore..it happens D: Sorry :(

(One time I was just playing some Quake 3 on my computer and I smelt smoke and my PSU just fried! Didn't think it would happen to my computer..it was just an ordinary and reliable computer but it happened!)

BTW: Call MDG about the problem, hopefully they can you give you some advice or even better maybe fix your cd drive problem! All the best luck man!

There could be several different possibilities on what has gone wrong with your CD drive.

Have you tried replacing the cable of the drive? Often they can become bad and need to be replaced. It is simple to replace one, and they are not expensive. Your manual should show you how to do so, and if not there are several websites which can help you with instructions.

If you have a second computer you can take the drive out of the current system, install it in the other, and see if it works.

Change out the cable with a new one and see if it works then.

Make sure that the cable is firmly connected on both ends. Sometimes, over time, the connection can come loose, and this is a major issue of a malfunctioning DVD/CD drive.

If none of these work, it may just have died and you need a new one.

It is also possible that the software you use to burn is currupt. Try removing and then reinstalling the software.

Good luck and I hope you get your issue solved right away. I hate it when my hardware takes a dive.
