They may be reffering technically to Xbox 360s frequent problems with overheating. It is well known that 33% of all 360s sold will eventually break down, needing to be repaired. Not good for christmas morning.
The PS3 is much more reliable.
Theymay also be refering to the PS3's Cell Processor, which although complicated and is taking developers some getting used to, is a very powerful graphics system that is only just starting to be used to its advantage in games such as Gran Turismo 5, Drakes Fortune, Ratchett and Clank and Metal Gear Solid. 360s processors may be a bit more outdated than the the Ps3.

I have a 360 and perfers the games that I can play on it. The only reason I would buy a PS3 is for the blu-ray player but you can get stand alone player for less than the low end PS3 player. The 360 I have I got from the promotion before the launch and I had to send it in for repair 2 months ago from the red ring of death problem and that the one and only problem I have had.

cause the ps3 came out later then then xbox 360 and now there making better games now and then there cheaper and they have blue ray which makes it a lot better then it came out first and the xbox 360 has the red ring of death that will only happen if you dont take care of it and there is no reported malfunctions with the ps3 yet so thats why its so hot

the only thing I could think of is that with blue ray large storage space for games they will be able to fit more content then 360 dvd drive. but other then that I think 360 should have a good long life cycle and am sure in 5 or so years they will come out with a new console.

Cause the ps3 has more history, and much more enhancements!
The xbox 360 will leave you stranded, frozen, and aggrevated!

Last longer how? There's supposedly more 360s that are malfunctioning but you simply have to send it in for repairs if that happens, that doesn't limit its longevity necessarily.
