This is a great question! Yes there was one. After I got out of the army I was courted by the CIA. I was married and my wife was pregnant and the job meant a lot of overseas time. I turned it down. I like the way my life has turned out for the most part but I always wonder what would have happened if I had gone with them. One thing for sure, I probably would have been one of the people held hostage in Tehran.

No cause if I would have taken the road more traveled then I would not be the person I am today.
I chose to take a very bumpy path but I am happy I did.
Sure I could have taken the easy way out and gave up and gone back to the other road but I didn't and I am still and will continue to be on that bumpy path I chose and that is OK cause I know that when I get to the end I worked my butt off to get there.
My life is not easy but I wouldn't have it any other way!!!

Thinking over what you wrote in your question, I would say no, I do not think I did the wrong thing in not taking the other way. I did not have a happy childhood, I was sixteen when I married my Husband, but no regrets there, because with him I got to appreciate what Love really was. In him I found out that I was not an idiot or taking abuse from my Parents, he showed me I was special, and somebody that deserved to be Happy. We have been together for all this 49 years of our Lives, and no regrets, I finished my education, went to College, all this done when my Kids were all grown up and in School. This Home abounds with lots of Love for everyone. Thanks.

I think we can at times feel that way. But perhaps the other road would have been worst. I think many make that mistake too.
I say thank your good companions you meet on the way who were good for you--forget the bad who did nothing for you or who do not bring out your best , takes a deep breath , and continues on, laden with memories of an unforgettable journey.

I think we all make bad choices sometime in our lives and yes... I've taken the wrong fork in the road, once or twice, but I pick myself up and move forward and hopefully learn from my mistakes.

Thought about it,and decided, that if I would have taken a different path when I was at that fork I wouldn't have my children now.
They are definitely worth the detour from whatever MIGHT have been.

Oh god yes. Too many to list. But you can't have regrets because the good things that are to come might not happen if you chose the other fork.

Moving away from the Bay Area, California when I was 21. I should have just tried to live on my own or with a roommate, instead of being too scared and deciding to stick with my parents.
And I stayed with my ex too long. I should have quit it when I first noticed he was maniuplative.

In the recession of the early seventies, I abandoned my plans for a chancy career as an actor to become an entrepreneur. I made lots of money, but today, because I have many young friends (and one in particular) who are actors, I often have slight pangs of "the sadest words of tongue or pen."

I believe the easy one is the first one because the second wanted wear, so it hadn't been worn or traveled. The undergrowth in the first one is bent so people had traveled and trampled it before.
