Ireland.
Some years ago, I went for a long weekend , on my own but on a coach trip . I went to my room and thought -cor! that's a nice view over the bay -I'll open the window-wrong- they had been put in upside down , so only opened from the top,down(sash-cord) and they started at least 8ft 6ins. up !
Following morning at breakfast, one old gent said he didn't fancy cornflakes, could he have something else.'Not a problem' said the waitress and brought him a smoked salmon sandwich and a pint of Guinness!.It was 6.30 am ! Outside the hotel was a signpost 'P' and an arrow to the left. Underneath, was another signpost saying 'no left turn' so you had to turn right and go round the block to park !

In the rotting carcass of a camel during my trans-sahara trek. The camel had died three days earlier and had really started to smell. There are few things that can motivate you to do something like this other then the freezing cold of a saharan night. We would have kept moving if John had not been bitten by a posionous insect and cought a fever.

In a car. We were travelling, and everyone was tired of driving. So my dad pulled into a McDonald's restaurant, parked the car, and we all slept there for a few hours.

Under a house. There are these granaries in the North of Spain called Horreos, they are on top of pillars. Old style house from village. We went on a trip and had to sleep there and it is one of my worst ever nights of sleep.
