Why is the NAACP praised for its work promoting the black race, yet if there was a National Association for the Advancement of WHITE People, all hell would break loose?
Same with all the similar examples:
The WET:WHITE Entertainment Television
The United WHITE College Fund
A Soul Train equivalent for Whites
Special Entertainment awards shows for White actors, musicians, etc. ...
I thought the whole idea of the Civil Rights Act was to enable persons of color to join in all of the rights and priveleges Whites enjoyed;no more "Seperate but Equal"
If white businessmen were as racially self-promoting as black-run businesses, there would be discrimination lawsuits untold !
What if White politicians, actors, and TALK SHOW HOSTESSES were to state openly that"We,as white people, must stand together",as is often stated on national television and radio ?
And worst of all, what if white people showed the same open disdain and contempt for black people that black people show for white ?

I CAN NOT BELIEVE THE ANSWERS I AM HEARING HERE! just 60 years ago there were protests to keep black kids out of white schools; death sentences are nearly four times (3.9) higher if the defendant is black, and black people make up 15% of our population, yet they are severely underrepresented in politics and the media.

How can you be angry that an organization exists to protect a minority group that is often taken advantage of? And what really blows my mind, is that most you imbeciles agreeing with sentiment of this question listen to rap and hip hop music and think your from the hood.

Oh, and lastly, there is a white separatist society for white people, its called Congress.

We live in a country who gives "Free things" to people who can afford it the most. For example, Paris (I am a S L U T) Hilton has alot of money at her finger tips but when she shows up to a Academy Awards, she get the $50,000 gift bag. That right there would feed a family of 4 for three years. A black person things everything should be given to them. For Example again, I took the post office test. I was given 20 points extra because I am a vet with a purple heart and I an a white male. I found out that a black/Latino female gets 20 points because of their background. So my advantage was cut short because of some liberal wanted fairness across the board. So that black/Latino female was a wounded vet, she would get 40 points towards the test. How about that for fairness. He some fairness for you. I would like to have the pay scale of that liberal lawyer. That only fair, right?? It's only fair for everybody except white people. After reading what I typed, I guess I am a racist. So is that worthless piece of S H I T Jesse (I will sue you for using the N word except rap artist) Jackson and that fat piece of S H I T Al (got 6 kids with 6 mothers and not married to any of them) Sharpton. They only go after domantly white people becasue there is not blacks there working. Reason fo that, blacks are pretty much unemployable. They don't work when they have jobs and B I T C H when they don't have a job. Better off sending them HOME. Let's face the truth here, I am close to right about this. Blacks, use your race card in Africa, not here. Do it on your own merit, not your color. We, the white people, are sick of it.

I know this is a troubling issue for A LOT of people, and I actually have spent some time trying to figure this one out myself.
It is my personal belief, that we are all American, no matter what our race. That mixing pot is what makes Americans, well...Americans. We, as a community, have to move away from these stereotypes and make it no longer an issue of whether you are black or white...or purple for that matter...gay or straight...whatever, and just be people...be Americans...
What people don't understand is--yes, slavery was terrible, I believe most of us will agree, but did the Americans of today have anything to do with it??? No...
Everyone is to worried about what is politically correct...don't upset the minorities, but we have to disband that thought and work together or race relations will never change.

Some very good points here.

The defenders will say it's because of all the years of repression by the white man. But I feel if they truly want to put the past behind them, they would use the equality they worked so hard to gain and promote assimilation, not separatism.

Of course, maybe they want to use the past as a meal ticket.

Let's make it clear, however, that it's not all blacks. There are many who want to be equal and not separate, and that's the way it should be. Those who think they are "owed" and therefore must be put on a platform tend to ruin it for everybody.

Uhhh.. cause white people have all the money.
Then there was that whole slavery thing.
Let me ask you this.
If it is so great having all these programs and organizations to spread the racial inequality of how great black people got it, would you change your skin color to black to take advantage of all this joy they spread?
....
I thought not.

You can start those programs and such for white people, it is just that they draw a certain crowd, or type of people that most communities and businesses do not want to support or associate with as they generally have a negative attitude toward groups of varying ethnic backgrounds.

What a pedestrian idea probie, I'm sure you see all monolithic groups in our fair country as separatist, but that of course is ridiculous. White is a misnomer created by early American society to ape the British in its class system and to protect landed gentry rights you if you are pale you simply inherited the title. For some of us especially those from southern Europe we weren't' t even called white originally, we had a few other choice names, but don't let that bother you. Here's an idea join the 101st. airborne and once in tell your Sergeant your idea.

There was a NAAWP started by David Duke in Louisiana. If you read what he had to say, all he wanted was for all people to be treated equally.
I think all this started with the celebs being so "bend over backwards" to make black people feel fine. Black people, not being stupid, decided to use this to their advantage, and so they have.
We have Miss Black America; we have the Realtists - an association of Black Realtors.
Black people have united and have infiltrated while the apathetic white population is too afraid to say anything or take any actions. We need to unite and work together without fear of being called racists.
Besides that, show me one black person who isn't a racist?

What are rules for? many of the extremists you're good approximately and that they could opt to have a very hispanic u . s ., yet those each physique is few.

I'll give this a shot but you should know that I am white.

I too have asked this same question many times. Not because I want "something" white but because I believe that most races want equality and by having the NAACP may not be perceived by some as equal an equal organization rather a separatists organization catering only to black people.

The difference is cultural is the USA. We have more races and cultures living together than most other countries in the world. There are also many black people that do not know their own roots, where they came from, what nationality they are. Am I African, Jamaican or of British descent? Italians for example basically know that whether they were born in Italy, Wisconsin or New Jersey you know that you are Italian and so you may congregate with other Italians, families, clubs, festivals, etc. The same could be said for most ethnic backgrounds in the US (white based), except for many black people who have lived here for a few generations based solely because of slavery.

Therefore because of this situation that I have described, these groups like the NAACP bring blacks together more for unity and a sense of belonging rather than wanting to separate them from the rest society. The Italian American Club caters to Italians, why would a German or a Swede want to join? It's hard for white people to understand this sometimes as we do not separate ourselves as a "whole" but rather in smaller fractioned groups based on ethnicity.

As for the white television and award shows you have to look no further than the programming. Choose any network or cable programmer and you will see that their shows mostly cater to white people and not to any other ethnic background of any particular color. Yes they do have shows primarily geared for black people with black actors in them but not in the high percentages that have shows about average white folks. So in essence one could say that ABC, NBC, CBS and Fox are exactly what you were looking for in a white entertainment television network, (but not truly).

As far as open disdain and contempt that black people have for white people I guess depends on where you live. For example I live in the South and in the area that I live in I do not see this disdain. That's not to say that it does not exist. Everyone makes choices in life. I choose not to trust you, I choose not to like you, I choose to have disdain and contempt for you. No one person speaks for everyone, even Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson, albeit they do represent groups of black followers.

Look at what our country has done and said about this group of people from our humble beginnings. Acknowledgment that blacks voted long before the 1965 Voting Rights Act was provided in the infamous 1856 Dred Scott decision in which a Democratic-controlled US Supreme Court observed that blacks “had no rights which a white man was bound to respect; and that the ***** might justly and lawfully be reduced to slavery for his benefit.” (1).

Further on our country had to go to civil war with each other for the rights of this group from what States thought their "right" was in treating this group.

I could go on and on about how bad this country has treated black people, American Indians and many other groups. The point is, is that we have treated them badly in the past and sometimes continues to do so.

My only point to blacks or American Indians is that most Americans today came here after these historic travesties happened to their ancestors. We live in today's world and to keep living in the past and blaming other groups for past actions isn't fair to others who have not committed such acts. Do they have to forget the past? No. Can we learn from the past and move forward bettering ourselves and helping others along the way? For the sake of our country and soon to be our children's country, I hope so.

There is a difference between unification with intent to bring people up, and unification with intent to hold other people down. Sadly, white unification has historically been the latter rather than the former.
