Ok so I've been on the pill for over a year and before that i was on the patch for a year so all in all, i've been on birth control for 2+years. Last month, my period was only 2 days and was real short. I suspected pregnancy. So i told my husband to get me a test. When i took it, it said i was positive, 2 dark lines. I was only a week into my new pack of pills so i immediately stopped it because i thought i was pregnant. we were ecstatic because we were thinkin of having a baby so we celebrated the whole week, if you catch my drift. *wink* anyways, i find out that he gave me an ovulation test!! when i saw the box in the garbage... so now im wondering could i be really pregnant now??
all in all... i hope that i am now pregnant because i was soo happy when i thought i was!!

and another thing, this is confusing to me because i thought the pill prevents ovulation, so why did the ovulation test become positive?

Maybe this whole scene was just a sign to tell you that you two should start a family! :) I am a big believer in signs... :)

I'd say there is a good chance. If what you thought was a pregnancy test was actually an ovulation predictor, and it was positive, and then you "celebrated" all week... well then that would have been the right time to conceive. Before I got pregnant with my first child, I had been on the pill for about 6 years. I stopped taking the pill and found out I was pregnant less than 2 weeks later! Best of luck and baby dust to you!

If the ovulation test was positive, then after that result you would have about 24 hours to ovulate. Once you ovulate your egg will be in form for conception for about 12-24 hours. So, the only way you could get pregnant is if you have sex the day of the positive result and/or the day or two after. "Celebrating" throughout the whole week would not hyelp you conceive as after about day 3 after the positive result, your egg is already dead...
But, the way a good percentage of people get pregnant is by have sex a day or two BEFORE you ovulate...

ok so if it was an ovulation test that would indicate that you are not pregnant yet because you can not ovulate when you are pregnant. however providing you had sex during the time that you did the test there could be a good chance that you could be . you will need to wait a week then do a test good luck and merry christmas

I thought the ovulation test would be negative since the pill should prevent that... or does it just make the uterus not a place an egg can implant?
You'll just have to wait this one out LOL

I was on the pill for 3yrs when I got pregnant. My sister was also on the pill when she got pregnant God just blessed us with two angels. It is a very good chance you are pregnant. Best thing to do is go to the health department and have them use their test it's much better than then one that the store. Good luck.

You'll have to take a real pregnancy test to make sure. Just because you're ovulating, doesn't mean you're pregnant. It just means you have the chance to be.
