•Jared - Not bad
•Ivan - A little weird but not bad
•Rayden - Kind of dumb and rhymes with Gayden
•Rio - Just stupid and once people find out that there's a song that says "Her name is Rio and she dances on the sands" he will get beat up for the rest of his life.
•Asher - I know an Asher, he's a cool guy. I like the name.
•Regan - Just no.
•Troy - It's an alright name.
•Simeon - No, Simian = Primate so a smart kid will be able to make fun of your child.
•Antain - Kind of weird.
•Rafael - Again, kind of weird.

I've noticed you have several Biblical names: Jared, Asher and Simeon. Will Jared be pronounced the Hebrew way, Jay-red? If so, I like it. I like these names the best.

Ivan and Troy are good, too, as is Rafael.

I'd drop Rayden, Rio, Regan and Antain. Is Antain some form of Antoine? I can't place it.

With the name Rafael I picture a dude that looks like Fabio. Same with Rio. Rayden seems like a name for rat poison. Regan seems like a girls name. Im not trying to be mean. You just want to know why you get thumbs down. I do like your girls name. I am all about unique names. But some on the list are just weird.

Well studies show that men will get paid a higher salary and be more successful if you give them a traditional name. Women on the other hand it is the opposite, just keep that in mind, I think those names are lovely but some of them sound a little out there in the business world. For instance Simeon, but if he is an artist, watch out!

You get thumbs down because there are hundreds of names out there that are better than those.

And in the "not terrible, but not great either" category are Troy, Ivan, and Jared.

What's wrong with them is that outside of maybe Jared, Troy and Ivan they all sound like made up, soap-opera names.

----->"When I suggest these..I usually get thumbs down..whats wrong with them?"<-----

They sound like names a little girl would pick for when she gets older; they are immature sounding.

I'm not saying this to be mean; I want to answer your question honestly. When we suggest names and are given thumbs down, there's no "reason box". I get TD all the time for my suggestions - eventually you have to just figure it's a matter of taste and let it go.
