You can bet your ever lovin', oil dependent, wage slavin', tax payin', consumer driven azz on it. The American public has been conditioned to exist through our emotions by corporate advertising, modern media & organized religion. This makes us highly susceptible to age old, gov't perfected methods of persuasion, like fear.
In this age of political prostitution, you can't even swing a dead cat without hitting a Hypmotized Bush-co. supportin' sheeple that believes the current administration is actually concerned with something other than oil profits. The same dolts that voted republican in '00 & '04 will do it again in '08. Bushbots thrive on fear and paranoia, and the GOP knows this. It's been effectively used throughout history to herd voters to the polls and to justify war. Corporate America needs another republican in office in order to maintain the status quo of war profits and they know how to get what they want. Be afraid. Be very afraid.

Considering more than half the country is republican, yes, I think people will vote republican again. I wouldn't look into polls to much. I voted in a poll expressing disapproval for Bush. Not because I am anti war or I am a loony liberal, rather I disapprove because I feel Bush hasn't been tough enough! So, when you see a poll that says 75 % od americans dissapprove of Bush, do not be so niave as to think they all think like YOU. Many do not. Do you know how many liberal I know have confessed to me they voted for Bush, yet consider themselves democrat? When asked why, their answer is they need someone who will do the "dirty work" that people like clinton, gore and kerry never would have done.

Hillary Clinton might be the perfect example. Given that people won't vote republican for whatever reason, that said I would never flip over, just like you wouldn't ever vote republican. Why would they be scared to vote for the right?

I do not vote for a Republican because I am scare. I vote for the Republicans because I believe in their basic tenants of less government and lower taxes.

Scared? Who's scared? Your premise is that one has to be frightened to vote Republican. I assure you that the vast majority of those that vote Republican are anything BUT frightened. It seems to me that the Dems have painted the doom and gloom picture of the world situation and US foreign policy over the past 7 years, not the Republicans. The largest disappointment has been the rampant liberal type spending that was initiated by those that were elected as conservative Republicans. Those rascals won't be getting a second chance.

Yes. Just wait until people actullay start to read Hillary's National Healthcare plan.

#1 The government, through this agency will essentially control your healthcare. This means that you will have to apply to the government for the healthcare that you need. Then if you need a procedure or treatment, you will have to get that approved as well. What other countries that have socialized healthcare have experienced is that the all-knowing, all-seeing government takes this one step further and actually places you in a wait status for the procedure based on the severity of your condition compared to other peoples'. So, lets say you are diagnosed with cancer, but the doctor does not feel that treatment for it is needed yet. Buddy the second I find out I have cancer, I'm doing eveything I can to get cured. Under National Healthcare however, you do not have that right. You have to wait in line as funding is allocate first to people with more severe cases than you. People say that then you can opt to pick up private health insurance, but in reality NO insurance company will provide coverage to ANYONE who has cancer as a pre-existing condition, so then you are at the mercy of politicians and the system.

#2 Under National Healthcare, you do not have the right to refuse treatment either. If you are prescribed a medication that is cheap, but that makes you go bald, and the only other medication for your condition is very expensive, the system is likely to provide you with only the cheapest medication. If you refuse it, the you are dropped from the National Healthcare plan because you would be considered a risk. Then, just like above, you are stuck with NOTHING as no insurance company will then pick you up with that pre-existing condition unless you are willing to pay HUGE premiums. People have suggested to me that they would just go ahead and accept the medication they are prescribed then flush it down the toilet, and then visit a private-pay facility to prescribe them the medication that they want and take it. So then, our taxes will pay for medicine that people will literally flush down the toilet???

#3 Why should I, if I am willing to pay for insurance to avoid all that I have described above, have to have my taxes raised for others to have free, government-controlled healthcare that I will not benefit from??? Do you even realize how much your taxes will rise to be able to implement this???

I dont think people are ever scared into voting one way or another. I think that people are swayed because the opposition is so lacking. No matter your feeling on Bush, there is no way he should have won in 2004, but the Dems dropped the ball and delivered such a horrible candidate, so people had no choice. And it appears as though they are ready to do it again.
