Well I'm more of a 360 kind of guy but here are pros and cons for Wii:
PROS.
Great Interactive games
Fun to play with your family
Gets you up so you still KIND OF keep fit whilst playing a console.
Its Nintendo! Great titles like Mario etc.
Not many problems with the actual console
CONS.
Gets boring on your own.
Some of the features get annoying
Games are not so great for people who arnt fans of Nintendos past.
Graphics arnt up to the standard of 360 or PS3
Overall i would say this is a great console for an 'amateur' gamer.

PS3
PROS.
Amazing graphics.
Blu-Ray compatability
ALOT of cool games to play (IE Asassins Creed)
Pretty cool online modes.
CONS.
Not as reliable
Not so great if you dont care about media stuff.
VERY expensive.
More for the more experienced gamer.

I think the Wii is better.
But of course i like the 360 the best.

Hope i helped.

I'd say the Wii. It's fun, perky, kid-friendly, good at parties, and it keeps you in shape. It's really different but in a good way, and with all the Nintendo franchises it's staying for a while.
The PS3 is alright, but of the three consoles right now it is the least popular. It's the most expensive and there aren't that many exclusive games on it. However, they are predicted to make a comeback soon.

well cost is gonna be the same right now the wii have gone through the roof lol

ps3 graphics tons and tons better and more graphic games like gore and all and adult games then the wii

wii graphics are like a ps2 and childish games and some of the games controls are confusing having to move ur arms around and then using the analog and the d-pad and the triggers.

ps3 has PSN that is free
wii u have to pay for online use like XBL"x-box live"

not sure the mem size of the wii but the ps3 ios which ever u buy

The Wii is still coming out with new games. It is cheaper though but the PS3 and it's amazing graphics are totally worth it. It really depends on your opinion but I would go with the PS3. If you had another choice, choose the 360, simply because of online play and Halo.

PS3 ownz, i've explained it so many times its not even funny, but i'll make it quick:

-Hard Drive(20-80gp)
-Blu-Ray(Hi-Def movies, Blu-Ray player tops 900 a piece
-Graphics(Better than xbox 360 and 500x's better than Wii)
-The game line up is really hot rigth now for the holidays
-FREE ONLINE PLAY(Unlike 360)
-ALSO, upcoming free game called HOME. its a lot like the sims or Second Life but it comes in the hard drive Its online also, so you can talk to your friends on it.
-Web Browser(Too bad 360 doesnt have one BUILT-IN)
-Also this is an upcoming feature, but if you have a PSP you can turn on your PS3 and play your movies and game in the PSP.
-And a lot more....

Wii!

Well, thats my preference. It depends on what you want, gamewise. I always loved mario games, since i was a kid, so I will always gravatate towards nintendo products.

Ill just say this, i was a little skeptical as to how well the wiimote worked... it exceded my expectations.

Also, Wii has internet capacity as well! (response to below post) I watch youtube on my TV. I can download old school NES games (Yaaay!!!) The games are just... fun.

I'm sure the ps3 will be great, in time. But at the moment i dont see a whole lot of games i want. And the blu-ray is going to flop, as far as DVD movies go. (anyone remember the mini-disc? every time sony tries to release a new media format, it fails miserably)
