Of course, everybody gets tired of someone who is against our behavior because human being is not perfect since there will be always mistakes in our everyday activities. Let us remember about sadism and masochism : Sadists enjoy inflicting pain and Masochists enjoy receiving pain but the problem is that we bear both of them and tolerance and awareness of these situations apart us a little bit from those algolagnias.
The most important is not feeling besieged but observing ourselves to see if there is a real reason to be in these hardships to correct actions rapidly or if it is just a way the other people use to make notice their presence in our lives in which case we are to stop it and clarify them that it is important someone who cares for us but not in a so strong persistent criticism that destroys our confidence and self-esteem.
A last word flatterers are in some cases worst than critics, we have to be aware of this, too.

I tell them one or more of the following:
to stop rubbing my nose in the dirt because I don't like it,
that I don't need to be told when I have made a mistake because I am aware of it and it's just annoying for someone else to say I told you so
That I am not perfect and am entitled to make mistakes - it doesn't make me a bad person
That the reason I do lots of things wrong is because I DO lots of things and if they did more, they might make more mistakes too, by the law of averages - i.e. if you sit on your bottom and do nothing, of course you'll do nothing wrong, but you won't do anything right either
What rule says I have to be perfect
I know, but I'm still lovely, human, loveable or what have you
I wish I could be as wonderful as you
Yes, but I'm good at other things
No I didn't

Maybe if you didn't have such an overblown ego and were so arrogant that you thought you were too perfect to POSSIBLY be in the wrong... people wouldn't be "shoving in your face" the things you do wrongly... because arrogant people who think they are perfect are good targets for people to stick pins in their ego.

show how you over came that "Wrong" then tell them to accept it!
and you should too!
