I can honestly say that when I was younger I said I never wanted kids. Now 3 kids later I have no regrets. Sometimes I see people without kids and wonder what life would have been like with no kids, then I think about how I'd have to devote all my time to the hubby, lol. Starting off with a 17 year old though would not be my idea of fun. Some people, like my aunt are content without kids, and if that is working for them, I say what ever makes you happy!

I have a wonderful 21 month old little boy who has been a blessing to me and my husband. I also acquired 6 stepchildren and a granddaughter when I got married. I am 35. My husband is 40. I do understand why you feel the way you do. You should never regret anything you do. If I had chosen not to have a child, I would not regret it, but now that I know him, I cannot ever think of being without him. My stepchildren are also a blessing to us, and I love them all with all my heart.

My wife and I have two kids of our own and feel fortunate to have them. We tried for five years to have children before finally succeeding. Our kids are sweet and polite and a real pleasure to be around. So far. They're still very young.
We also have between us, 18 neices and nephews between the age of 3 and 23 and are often "blessed" to have one or more staying with us. They are mostly good kids, but sometimes you just want to punch one in the face, or throw one through a wall.
Honestly, there are times when I wish my kids would go away for a few days, just so I could get some sleep, and not have to change diapers, but I don'r regret having them.

I can't put you down for not choosing to have children, It's your choice. I was 31 years old when I had my son. I guess I felt the same way you did too before I got pregnant.
I have to tell you that there is not a better feeling in this world than to look at your child for the first time. There is no greater love than that.. I do feel that you are cheating yourself of the most precious gift .. You have no idea what you are missing out on ..but once again .. I respect your choice and you seem to be happy with it.

I am 30. I just have one and she is 4 years old.
I don't regret having her. I don't want any more.
Having kids is not for everyone.
Some people can go their entire lives and never get married or have children and be extremely happy with it!
Some people want to have a bunch and be happy!
I, myself, never cared to ever have children but I love my daughter and as soon as I had her, I made sure I can never have another one. One is ENOUGH!! LOL. If I had her before I went to college, things would be different. But fortunately, I have a few degrees and a great career. I am also single by choice.

Yes I have 2 wonderful kids and no I don't regret having them. I feel that life is a miracle and bringing forth life is helping to spread the miracle. I am also a teacher, so I know that there are some children (and parents) that I would rather not ever see again, but that does not make them less of a miracle.

I feel LUCKY to NOT have any, BUT then you say YOU are BLESSED with a stepdaughter. You sound confused. But I DO have one daughter and I adopted my other daughter when I married my old lady. Even with the problems that come with having kids, I feel blessed with both. I hope you can sort things out so you feel blessed or not. Good luck.

I had two children. My son is 31, and my daughter would have been 30, but she was murdered in January this year. I enjoyed them and do not regret having them. I only regret not being able to meet their needs better. The upside is my grandson who is a real joy to me every time I get to see him.

I don't have kids and I'm not sure yet if I regret it or not. My mom keeps telling me that I'll be lonely when I'm old if I don't but I look at women my age with kids and they look like a mess. I basically have the body I did in high school and everyone tells me I look young because I don't have the stress of kids. So not too sure.
