Have you heard the whole hooha about Radio One editing the word f*ggot from the The Pogues "Fairytale of New York"?

Do you think they should have edited it out? I personally think it's a sad day that a well loved song can't be played without Radio One having to worry about offending people.

No-one complained about the song before hand. Radio One are now receiving complaints about editing it out!

One gay man said he's more offended that the radio think he would be so petty as to be offended by f*ggot!

It's a classic so if they are going to edit a song then just don't play it!

What about S1ut - is that still in there ?? Its sad - it ruins a song when words are edited out. Looks like the PC patrol has got in there again. I dont think these things actually offend anyone - but they have to be seen to do something to warrant the huge wages they claim xx

Oh what, not another Radio 1 attempt to curry favour with the PC brigade! It does push the single up the chart though. So I should imagine The Pogues won't be complaining. What about the rights and freedoms of the scumbags and poor maggotts too????

You're a bum, you're a punk
you're an old **** on junk
lying there almost dead
with the drip on the bed
you scumbag, you maggot
you cheap fancy f*ggot
happy christmas you ****
I pray god it's our last.

There are more offensive things than the word f*ggot in that verse. I would rather be a f*ggot than an old **** on junk.
I f**king HATE political correctness. Like we don't have bigger things to worry about.

Oh boy! What ever next? I have this super track on my Christmas cd in the car.I'm gonna play it on a loop when I go and get the kids from school, and I'm gonna brave the elements by having the windows wound down. It's a classic, don't mess with it.

I agree its a classic and I have never met anyone who found it offensive, plus they say a lot worse things than that on radio one ! You can'ts say F@ggot but you can play a song that says 'lick my p***sy lick my c**t !'

I don't see why a reference to a meatball is offensive to anybody. Have they also edited out a*se hole?

Fools!
I'm surprised they still play Christmas songs...in case they are deemed to be offensive to someone!
