This is not a battle of good an evil. This is much much more. Yes God has power over everything. But God has chosen to allow us creatures to make independent decisions. What the devil raised in the garden of eden and in the book of Job, is this question, Does God have the right to rule over persons.
This final battle is really God, proving he is the only one that can sucessfully rule manking. Also by doing this, he is vindicating his name, this is an issue that will be put to rest once and for all time.
Secondly, he is batteling for persons who are obiedent to him. Some persons have become wicked, and have even killed Gods servents among other things.
God will restore this earth. God will not destroy the earth, but he will destory Satans system, which is false religion and corrupt goverments. God will accomplish his arrangment in the Garden of Eden, which is for people to live in peace, be happy and enjoy life and enjoy this planet.

good and evil between man , God has the ultimate dominion over Satan; God loves all his creations , like a parent loves all their children; that bond can't be broken; Satan is like the spoiled child whose only intent has always been to hurt God by taking as many away from God as he can b/c he knows how much God loves us; don't forget Lucifer was an archangel who like us has freewill; ultimately, God like a parent will put his foot down when it is God's will; who knows maybe even Satan will learn and want something better than what he has, anything is possible ; if Satan had more power, he would have been able to destroy Jesus but couldn't b/c God has the ultimate power over all creations. All Satan was able to do in all instances is taunt us and try to get us to use our free will against God's love; God just wants us freely ; do you want someone to love you b/c you are told it or b/c you feel it ??

We are allowed to choose our actions not for the sake of Gods knowledge,as He is fully aware and knowledgeable of all that was, is and will be.
We are allowed our free choices so that we will know, on the Last Day, the Day of Judgment that we chose to do what we chose to do and then there will be no question as to the correctness of God judgment.
The final battle between good and evil (Christian theology) would, therefore, be to show us that God is all powerful.

is "he"...drama..king/queen....at every stage in our life we have two choices one right (satan) and one difficult (GOD) from birth till death we take the reign of choices from over parents and hand over them to our childrens so if the road taken was ........the destination will be different for a single differ choice, were none will meet, so the final show down will never happen

“When the thousand years are expired, Satan shall be loosed out of his prison, and shall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together to battle, the number of whom is as the sand of the sea. And they went up on the breath of the earth, and compassed the camp of the saints about, and the beloved city: and fire came down from God out of heaven, and devoured them” (Rev. 20:7-9).
This is the war that ends all war. It is the final conflict of the universe.
Army Destroyed.
Fire comes down from heaven and destroys them.
Satan Doomed.
He is then cast into the lake of fire prepared for him and his angels.

This goes deep into theology, but the main thing to take away from it is that God is not a puppet master. In His wonderful way, He has given us free-will to do ANYTHING we want in our lives. We can do drugs, we can work (or not), we can have sex with anyone (male, female, beast, etc...), we can lie, cheat, steal, kill and in the context of religion - we can believe in anything - or not! We have free will to choose for ourselves anything we want - good or bad.
God created everything - including satan. He can wipe us all out with a flick of His finger. Ultimately, what God is waiting for is for us to choose Him. You can read what He wrote to you in the Bible (God IS the author). Make your choice for eternity for He has already told us what will be the outcome. He's waiting for you to decide for yourself.

God created the entire universe plus self-conscious beings like Himself. Having been given a freedom of choice, these persons eventually declared their independence from God and broke His laws; which were necessary for the good life that God planned for them. The situation became very unpleasant for God and so He had two choices. He could have exterminated them; the end, the plan failed. Or, out of His caring concern and love for them; provide a solution. He could not simply forgive anyone because He had to do something about all the injustice in the world. God pronounced a just sentence (Romans 8:1); but also provided a full pardon to all who would take it. He had to be mortal because God can not die and He had to be God because only a sinless person could pay for the sins of another. If Jesus is who He claimed to be, then it is not unreasonable for God to be bound by death! Nor is it unreasonable to suggest that He should have the power and the purpose to rise from the dead! In fact; it would be unreasonable for God to be bound by death!
If the infinite Creator wanted to communicate to all of us earthlings what He was like; how could He show us more clearly than becoming one of us? If He wanted to show us how serious the offense is, to break His moral law, how better than to forfeit His own life? And if He wanted to tell us how much He loves us, how could He do it more dramatic than dying for us?
Biblical faith is more than intellectual reasoning. It is the logical choice! Other religions have teachings about an historical person, but it is Christianity that's based on what a person did. Of all the religions, no other has left such lucid evidence of God's involvement with humanity. We can either appreciate God's way more deeply or we can stubbornly and foolishly decide to go our own way and see where the outcome will lead. Anyone wishing to make sure that he has taken the first step of faith, should confess his moral failings to God and then in his own words, thank God for sending His own Son Jesus to die for him! From that point on, trust Christ to lead and develop his worth in a way that would never had been known without Him.
