Universal or unconditional love does not mean tolerating ignorance, stupidity, or evil. It means always doing the right thing whether others appreciate it or not.

This is a good question for it raises the issue of Jesus "belief" system. Nowhere in the Bible will you find Jesus pondering questions with - "let me think.....", I believe it's like this...." or " I wonder about...." NO!
Jesus as the Son of God and God incarnate did not come here to tell us about love , but to SHOW us love. The old saying ' :God is love." is usually to deep for us to comprehend but Paul does a pretty good job in 1Cor13. I would charge you to try and apply just ONE of those traits listed into your own life. I would say that you could not do it. This is the depth of love that Jesus Christ had (and has) for us.

Yes, Jesus preached unconditional love. A person does not have to accept the actions of another person to love them. There have been millions of mothers who did not care for some of the things their sons did. Some of their sons may have gone to jail, or gotten themselves in trouble some other way by doing something their mothers didn't approve of. Their mothers loved them just the same. They loved their sons enough to want them to change their ways, in order to live a better life.

NAY, if you mean universal LAW.
YEA, if you mean universal GRACE.
"Christ is the end of the law": Romans 10:4
Christ is not the mend of law: Luke 5:36,37
Love or Charity is as Law or Grace: allegory.
Love(Law) often fails. Charity(Grace) never fails.
His Grace --> Mercy ---> Peace with you all. Amen.

"A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another."
