She has made me get up and wait for a parcel while she pops out. I got up .....and waited...fully dressed so I don't shock the postie....and then she (my mum ) comes home and claims she has been ringing the doorbell for the ages!!!! I did not hear anything. I heard the key turn in the lock ...so saw her come back in and start to shout it me. I said either she was not pressing the doorbell hard enough or there is something wrong with doorbell....and asked her to check it. She goes outside presses the button ....and lo and behold it works! She walks in all prim.....saying 'at least say you didn't hear it....not that i didn't press the button'

It is a very petty matter. Let such very minor things not annoy you. May be your Mom was having some worrying in her mind and she forgot to press the switch rightly. This is quite common with people having so many things to worry. It happens due to growing age too.
When you grow up, you will have to deal with assorted type of people whose behavior can be odd in many respects. You will have to carry on with them. For that you have got to raise your tolerance level higher. You have to start practicing right now.

Get over it. If thats what you consider a big issue between you and you and your mum then consider yourself lucky. Compared to some of the happening in our house I would be more than happy with just having a mysterious doorbell as a issue.
