We don't need robots because robots cant be trusted as we can trust humans,
One change in the software operating them and thy can be become traitors or u can say 'gaddhar' or 'Desh Drohi' so just think over it
One more thing India has got 2 largest armed troops quantity in world so why we need robots increase the population further or waste of money

The automated soldier is something that the US, UK, Israel, and Russia are just starting to crack into right now.
The Foster-Miller TALON SWORDS, for example, is still remotely operated, though it appears to have been VERY effective in Iraq, where it has been used on a limited test basis. The regular TALON without the SWORDS package has been used extensively in tens of thousands of bomb dispossal missions, and at the WTC site after September 11th, 2001.
There are some advances being made at DARPA in the US, like the Black Knight. Hey, the thing packs a 30mm cannon, but it's a huge target. The battlefield robots in service now are still a decade behond where they need to be before they are really effective. The Indian army cannot afford to take chances on technologies such as this. These devices are VERY expensive. And until they are autonomous, they are still vulnerable to attack when not sent on groups of two or more...
The autonomous ones have had some issues. They won't shoot at the armed suspect hiding behind a cow, but they'll engage anything with an AK-47 stencil on it. Ouch...you know? The French and the Israelis have made some advances in this area, but they are still about 10-15 years away from a working autonomous soldier.
The French model looks like a light tank, and I'm not permitted to tell you anything about the Israelis project. Just look at what they've done with MBT technologies (Merkava MK 4), and the new TROPHY active protection system (Which is brilliant, as it ACTUALLY WORKS). The US is working on an equivalent system, though they are 4-5 years behind, mostly due to political considerations witht he producer, Raytheon.
The second generation Battlefield Robots will have these systems onboard. The Israelis are also planning on using their ingenious hybrid Chobham-based armor on the hull, so expect a hard-kill target. But at an extreme price.
What can I say... India doesn't have the budget for these technologies. However, I am excited for their new in-house designed fighter aircraft. Good for them.

My dear Prashant, if you live in India you know very well what is the worth of an ordinary Indian's life. Human beings come very cheap in India because they are in excess supply. Robots cost much more than a human soldier. A dead soldier is worth much more because then our Ministers can import a aluminium coffin to carry the dead back to home bases, a coffin costing USD300.00 will be bought for USD2500.00. Wake up to reality man, see the Tehelka tapes of operation Westend and other submarine deals later exposed but now brushed under the carpet. Now do you understand?

Well, considering India has the second largest population in the world, it is far more cheaper for the government just to send in people then to spend money on robots.

Robots can never match up to human beings, they don't have the ability to make decisions that are critical in times of war and emergency and furthermore, in this era, we still haven't have that advance technology to make robots that can engage in combat.
