money is not evil,it is how it is used that makes it bad.
take for example if a person took his or her money
and used it for something like say supporting
something you don't believe in,or that would be
harmful to some one else, then i would say in that
context it would be evil.
i suppose you have heard the old saying " it takes money
to make money"?
money in itself is not bad,it's what is done with it that is bad.

Actually its the love of money...

1 Timothy 6:10
For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.

Money itself as it can be anything used as a currancy in and of itself is not evil but the evil comes from a man's (or woman's) undue focus on this substance that can be used for good or evil. So no, money is not the root of all evil...our ruthless persuit of it is...as we are never satisfied, never grateful and rarely does it bring happiness to anyone really at least happiness that is not fleeting. Love in Christ, ~J~

The LOVE of money is the root of all evil, not money in itself. Its called the root of all sorts of evil because people have done alot of evil things to attain it.

No. The Scripture says that the LOVE of money is the root of all evil. In other words, if you put money between you and serving God, it becomes an idol to you and therefore causes you to love it more than you do God.

Love of money is the root of all KINDS of evil.

Somewhere in transition somebody forgot to add in the words love and kinds as though they didn't make a difference, but they do in the context of what that verse is saying. It's saying that greed will make you do things you don't normally do. Such as murder, lie, steal, cheat, betray and all sorts of other things because you love money more than anything else.

Let's not start attacking each other here, as Christians we're obligated to love everyone wether or not they are a believer or a scoffer.

Supposedly the LOVE of money is the root of all evil, but that's not true cuz some evil stems from jealousy, anger and other things that have nothing to do with that dollah dollah bill.

I belive the original quote was the love of money is the root of all evil.
It's certainy true that the love of money is the root of some evil or much evil, but not all evil.
Suicide bombers don't do it for the money.

Not money itself...but the LOVE of money...

(1 TIMOTHY 6:10) For the love of money is a root of all sorts of injurious things, and by reaching out for this love some have been led astray from the faith and have stabbed themselves all over with many pains.

(ECCLESIASTES 7:12) For wisdom is for a protection [the same as] money is for a protection; but the advantage of knowledge is that wisdom itself preserves alive its owners.

MONEY IS A PROTECTION.

We should be content with having enough to pay the bills.

No, a mis-quote. The LOVE of money is the root of all evil. Greed.
