i got a greeting card from my trash collectors and i heard that i am suppose to tip them. does anyone know how much should i give or what to give. there are 3 men that work the truck.

I'm in the states. I just tipped our trash person $20 in a red card taped to the bin. Must I? No. None of the others on my cul de sac appeared to have given a tip. But we have every year, as a gesture. Partly in hopes that those weeks where we might have heavier/more volume of trash we don't have any problems. I don't consider it extortion or a bribe - just "hey I appreciate that you have a crappy job - thanks for taking care of us."

I have never heard of that before...maybe you should look into it....did you receive it in the mail or actually from your garbage man....if it is indeed legitimate...I'm not really sure what would be a good tip....you are probably already paying for your trash to be picked up anyways...but I would say no more than $5 should be sufficient....

No. What is this tipping frenzy that people are all emotional about these days anyway? You do not have to tip everybody. SOME people do, however, it's not a requirement. It also depends on your financial position, not just your generosity. If you cannot afford it, don't do it.

I've giving our post man a card with a gift certificate...for Christmas ...but I didn't think about those guys....in our neighborhood we don't get the same guys....so that wouldn't be fair....

No, but where I live, I am the trash collector. lol. (I live in too far in the country so they don't offer that service.)

Hey ...christmas is once a year.....make their day...give them the most beloved materialistic thing in your life....(e.g. car,house,laptop etc etc)
