Sounds like you need to go a different route. You should put your faith in God and Jesus, They will tell you how to forgive, and take the anger from your heart...It even says in the Bible not to follow 'men of science'...they take your money, keep you on meds...and this seems to go on for years...ever notice how they never tell you to forgive the people who made you feel this way? When you forgive, the pain goes away...Most people won't listen to this, but I am telling you,...Ask God, through Jesus, to hear your pain and help you and you will see, that They are the ones' with the answers you seek..God Bless dear

You may be suffering from post traumatic stress syndrome. It is even possible if some kind of abuse happened very early on, you may not remember it, but still be angry.

I went to therapy for years and got nowhere. It wasn't until I got a therapist who dealt with PTSD that I began to get some insight into my rage. This helped me a lot and I was able reduce it at times.

However I still would have episodes of rage that I could not control. I remember one time I was on my way to the beach to hunt for fossils and a jeep full of men started to harass me by first passing and then slowing down. They jeered at me and I would go around them, only to have the cycle repeated. I got so angry, I stopped the car, grabbed a pickax that I was going to use to dig fossils, jumped out and in a fury asked, "Which one of you wants to die first?"

At that point I didn't care if I lived or died, my rage was so intense. Fortunately the guys realized that they were dealing with a crazy person and they left. But I could have been killed or hurt someone else seriously. I hated myself for this, but had no control.

Finally a psychiatrist diagnosed me as Bi-polar 2, rapid cycling and began to give me some medication to help me control my rage episodes, which he felt occurred when I slipped into Bi-polar mania.

With the drugs and therapy, I have come to live a pretty normal life. And every time I decide that I don't need meds, then I go back to pretty irrational behavior..

I hope this helps you a bit.

you are the only person who can actually help yourself. not the professionals. they help find a way, and understand yourself better, but you have to choose to help yourself and do the things they advice you to do or you're just wasting money.
there is something you must understand. unlike the regular disease/illness, mental illnesses are not something that a doctor can readily cure because, it doesn't manifest itself in a direct, objective manner. psychiatrists, or psychologists rely on the patient to verbalize their impressions, thoughts or feelings, perceptions for them to identify a problem and help. and these are most often the most difficult to express.
you are the only witness to your mental illness so you will actually be doing most of the work. the only thing professionals can give you is an objective perception to your issues, and lead you to the path of recovery. and like any other goal or path in life, you have to be willing to walk down it and take the first step.

You haven't found the right doctor for as of yet.

Keep hunting for a doctor that you click with. You can be helped via psychological understanding of your anger issues and/or the help of medication.

Don't suffer needlessly anymore. Get cracking and find a new doctor.

Have they refered you to an anger mangement classes/group? if not tell them you wish to be refered.
Part of recovery has to come from yourself tho. have you tried martial arts? anything like kick boxing will get your anger out in a set time so for the rest of the day you will feel more relaxed.

The only person who can get rid of your anger is you. Your doctors etc. can help but only you can do it. You recognize that you have an issue with anger (even your question sounds angry), it may be that this is going to be a lifetimes work for you.

They can't unless your anger is caused organically - ie something physically wrong with your brain. Since your anger is non-organic (I presume they tested the cause and diagnosed you mental illness?), there's nothing for them to fix. You can take medication but I wouldn't recommend it.

all the doctors and shrinks can't really help u, u need to find the reason for the anger and make your peace with it and understand it for what it is, and stop blaming it for everything. maybe u need to seek god to help u, through prayer, and getting to know god by reading his book and finding out his will for your life.
