I have got my marriage certificate but the same is in Marathi.
When I requested them that i needed the certificate in English they gave the logic that I had filled up the registration form in Marathi so the certificate will be in Marathi(This is not mentioned anywhere).
How do i get a English marriage certificate.?
I have heard that this causes problems in visa issue(especially work permit visas)
Is this also required for a travel/business visa
Is a translated notarized copy accepted by embassies.
I intend to stay in the middle east (UAE/Qatar)

Translate the marriage certificate in English yourself…
Prepare an affidavit certifying that: -
“This is a true translation of the original Marathi version of my marriage certificate issued by the appropriate authority of govt of Maharashtra, a copy of which is attached with this affidavit as Annexture-1. I am responsible for any misrepresentation or error in it” …
Something like this… Make a script of declaration in consultation with some one in the court…
Get this affidavit authenticated by legal authorities whom ever… and submit the same to the concerned Consulate for visa… and use photocopy of the same where ever you need…
it worked for US visa... and in US offices also...

If this was a legal marriage then you can get a translation (if it wasn't a legal marriage then you'd need another marriage as a lot of embassies will not accept religious ceremonies). This translation cannot be done by yourself for legal services (eg if you want to use it as a legal document). You need to get this done by an accredited translator (this is so that the the other person knows that the translator has done this without any bias and has passed exams showing that they are indeed fluent in the languages required to ensure accuracy).
Usually the bigger companies who make their money off this sort of work will have a seal which they will use on the paper and the individuals who do it will have a stamp that will state their full name and rank as a translator and languages they are accredited to translate in.
You should be able to ask the embassies and they may have a few accredited translators that they prefer you to use but you can always look them up in the Yellow Pages (or equivelent).
Usually the biggest problem with visas is that you will need to show your original marriage certificate AND the translation.

Take this marriage certificate to the government authorised translator (many of them are sitting outside district courts) get this certificate translated, now take both the original marriage certificate & its translated copy for Apostillisation. All such documents (both the original & its copy)should be first Apostilled by the Ministry of External Affairs at CPV Division, Patiala House, New Delhi to be used for any foreign transactions like issue of visa etc. These all documents have first to be authenticated by the designated agencies in the State from where the document has been issued. In case of personal documents like birth certificate, marriage certificate, affidavits powers of attorney etc, Home Department/General Administration Department are the designated authorities. In case of educational documents certificates/diplomas/degrees etc, State Governments have now opened Regional Authentication Centers (RACs) at various States from where the document should first be attested. Documents attested by these authorities then need to be presented to MEA for issue of Apostilles as discussed above. Once these documents are properly apostilled you can use them for your visa purpose. This the latest legal position with regard to use of any personal or educational certificate for any foreign transaction including seeking visa on the basis of these documents.

Yes dear you need to get your documents translated to English language. And for that you will need to hire professional certified translators. You can face allot of issues if you wont get your documents translated.

You can apply for COM again. It is not illegal.
