Your girlfriend should have been a little more gentle on you then she was it sounds.
The sphincter needs to be gently relaxed before taking anything that large. She should have worked you longer with just some lube and her fingers. They also have a numbing lubricant that can be purchased at most sex shops that might help.
Just pick soft couches to sit on.
