funny how a supposed failure in his law abiding ability would soon discredit his knowledge in science, so are we to suppose that if darwin or dawson or any other atheist scientist have ever broke the law in any way, there science knowledge is null and void ? ? ?

If he is in jail, it's not his taxes they put him in for, it's his knowledge that the government has worked so hard to brainwash people with, from being manifest.

Hear that scraping sound? It's the noise of moving goal posts.

Not to mention he doesn't have the money to pay anyone since he had to pay the millions of dollars he owes to the government.

You may be missing the following information:

1) Hovind's definition of evolution is not the same as within modern science. To prove his version of evolution you would have to know a lot more about the universe than is possible as his version includes (somehow) the 'evolution' of the universe, suns, planets etc. Considering evolution is a subject of biology you may wonder why his versions stretches into theoretical astrophysics.

2) Hovind is bankcrupt. He was jailed for tax evasion roughly a year ago and currently owes a significant amount to the government. He won't be paying out $250k any time soon.

Basically, that page on his site is a lie, nobody will be receiving money from him.

Interestingly though, there was a similar offer for anyone who could disprove evolution. Nobody could ever claim that either.

No, you email me when you have learned enough to know what you are talking about:

A second email would be welcome from you when you have finally achieved the level of intellectual and personal honesty to recognize a pile of coconuts glued to stands in a fairground. Or a one page Health Insurance claim form attached to 12 pages of small print....

Hovind is a huckster. Be aware, your support of him says rather too much about your personal attention to intellectual rigour and honesty. If you care for that...

Kent Hovind, who claims to be a doctor but isn't, is in prison for defrauding the US government of thousands of dollars in taxes.

Even if he wasn't, his "prize" is an obvious scam. You have to prove a list of things that he chooses, to a jury that he chooses, and he decides whether or not you have won.

Additionally, his list of "evolutionist" items you have to prove contains only one or two things actually related to evolution - all the others, like the origin of the universe and the origin of life, are to do with other sciences. It is indicative of his ignorance - and yours - that he lumps them all in with "evolution", which in fact is only to do with the change of populations over time.

I am quite sure that if i give him evidence, based on microorganisms he'll say just that "microevolution exists", and i don't think i'll live enough time to give him an actual example of macro evolution. Plus he won't accept fossils not even if you mail him a ton of em

those religious types like to discard the scientific meaning of theory & removing educated out of "educated guess". You don't need a quarter of a mil, just go to a museum.
How can you truly believe "God" has anything to do with anything?

The requirements are framed in such a way as to be impossible to satisfy.
