Some children act just like her.
They are children.
My Niece had an imaginary friend,
Mr. Bighead. He lived in her bedroom
closet.
I used to wonder why she picked a man
for an imaginary friend. Lol
Play board games with her,
have tea parties, color pictures,
read together, and just talk.
She's just making her own world more
interesting.
Show her how she can.
A little girl having a tea party with her
stuff animals seems more like play,
then a little girl talking to her shoe.
Many children today don't know how
to play independently.
If it's not visual, or hand held, they are
lost.
Playtime in school, they just run around,
or play on the equipment.
When I worked in the school system
I would teach the children how to play
hopscotch, singalong games, jump rope...
The other teachers would just look at me.
But I remember my Teacher playing
games with us during playtime when
I was a child. I still have those memories.

I agree with the first answer, she was enjoying herself. She is just different from the other children. Don't worry too much because sometimes unnecessary pressure from elders could make the child feel even more insecure and would tend to stay away from other children and like to be alone. You should give her lots of encouragements to mix around with other children, that's the only way for her to grow healthily. If she knows you felt she is abnormal, her sisters / brothers probably would've heard it and would think she is abnormal, the fact is, I think she is perfectly normal, but because her peers felt she isn't, she'll tend to stay away from other children and would talk to herself and toys.

You don't understand perhaps because you're too old, or you never did this. I think a high percentage of children do this up until they're around ten at least. I used to walk to school, but in my imagination I was driving a car. At my local school, I see children 6 to 7 years old doing extremely strange things - trying to walk everywhere backwards, mumbling and such.
I think it's okay. Children have a good skill to entertain themselves, and not feel self conscious about it. You will serve only to make her feel embarrassed about something she does naturally.

she's in need of attention...I only have 1 daughter and sometimes she has to play by herself so i can do the cleaning and all the stuff...(she helps too) but then, i am not playing with her like i should, and she talks and make things talk by herself...like Diego is her friend and she plays with him in the house...she plays tag and all those things...lol
I won't do anything about it, cause i was just like that, and until i was a little old too...you need attention, so you will get it from imaginary stuff!!! hope this helps, don't worry and let her do it, or maybe give her attention! anyway don't be hard on her!

Nope! She's creative and has a great imagination :-)
Be happy, not worried.
All kids are different.
ETA: My 8 year old does this stuff all the time and has since she could talk. She is VERY social and has tons of friends at school but when she's by herself (as is evidenced by them calling here LOL), she makes her own play.
Seriously, I would much rather have a child who was capable of making their own play and world instead of one who can't deal unless they're walked through everything

No need to worry. Be happy that she is verbal, and has an active imagination. Stop comparing her to other children. If you are in fact, trying to stifle her...you may be causing her attempts to "escape". Have you ever asked her about your concerns? Seems like she is behaving, like a typical little girl. Best Wishes.

she may be board, have her help out when cooking or give her small chores around the house. I don't think it is anything to check out. She could have an imaginary friend, maybe she is just having fun if there is no one else to play with. Her sister might be at that stage where she doesn't want her sister to bug her with anything.

all children are different , just let her be she will grow out off it , maybe she hasn't got as many friends as you all may think , and she is lacking attention at school fro her peers and she is having to amuse her self through imagination rather than social contact with her friends . i think she is probably just going through a phase and if you pull her up about it you worsen her behavior

She is perfectly fine. I think she too thinks a bit. Talking to herself and spinning around in circles is OK. If she is too absent minded you may have to consult, but nothing to worry.
