Congratulations!!!
I think the castle is great! beautiful place.
I suggest you do a virtual tour, first, and contact Disneyland for their suggestions.
I think if she loves you, then she will be happy with whatever ring you choose, because you love her, and she will love you for it.
But my other suggestion is this: keep it simple, never go into your marriage in debt because of your wedding or your ring...
it's not the way to start your life together.
other than that, I do wish you luck!

The period that you're planning a wedding is engagement. So if you're going to get married, you have been engaged. However, you don't have to do the whole ring or party thing. That's personal preference. Just tell your parents around now that you're planning on being married in a couple of years, but don't want an engagement ring or party. I'm sure they'll understand. ~ A ~

I LOVE Disneyland and think that in front of the castle is a great place. Keep in mind if you do it while park hours are open that it will not be a private engagement.. there are always TONS of people at the castle...So if you want pictures of just the two of you while you propose- I would suggest making arrangements with Disney for a private engagement. They also do weddings!
Also as a side note. There is a huge star right in front of the Castle on the ground where all the points meet at the center... I heard a old lady telling her grand kids that -- that was the spot their grandpa had proposed on many years ago, and he gave a proposal about how all the points of his life had finally gathered together-- as he asked her to marry her. VERY CUTE! The grand kids also got a kick out of being able to stand at the very spot their Grandma and Grandpa got engaged on.. Just something to think about.
Good Luck and Congratulations!

CONGRATULATIONS!
I proposed in front of the castle in Disney World, Florida to my wife a year and a half ago and she loved it. Your fiance will love it. For the ring, a local jewelery will be just fine. If you go to Kay Jewelries, prepare to drop some serious cash at that place. I went to my local jewelery and for $600, they got me a great diamond ring. The same ring at Kay cost $1,700. If someone tells you for $1,000 you can't get a nice ring, don't listen to them. You can get a decent one for a $1,000. Just make sure that it is a trustworthy local jewelery and that he/she has a good reputation. Concerning the ring on that picture, that is almost the same one i got for my wife when i proposed to her. It was with a little gold, white gold and a diamond that was heart shaped, not square. That's a nice diamond and i would go with it brotha. Again, if you wanna hit up Kay, prepare to pay a little more. After you buy the diamond have it tested in a different place to see the quality of the gold and the diamond. She'll love the diamond and she'll love it in front of the castle. I guarantee it. Make sure to call her a princess when you propose and you'll be money. Best of luck brotha and keep it real.

Sounds like a great plan, make sure you include the princess in the proposal since you will be at Cinderella's Castle. I planned on proposing to my wife in Niagara Falls, but I had a ring made for her and it didn't get done till Christmas Eve, and we were in Niagara Falls the week prior. But, that doesn't matter to you, its just me reminiscing. Anyway, if you have $1000 to spend on the ring, honestly thats not going to get you much in terms of a diamond. Unfortunetly, you have to spend $3-4k to get a decent sized diamond ring, 3/4-1kt. I spent $4k and my wife has a 3 diamond, 1.78kt ring, with that center diamond being 1.28kt, and the two smaller diamonds being 1/4kt apiece. So, you might want to think about using your money as a down payment, or even finance a ring which isn't a bad idea, it helps build credit (if you don't have any). And the only reason that was $4k, was I only had to pay for the diamonds, not the ring.
Anyway, good luck and we all here wish you the best.

That is a beautiful ring!!!!! I am a female and single, never been married or even asked. I would love to be considered someone's princess, and I think that the Castle thing would be wonderful. I haven't been there before either so I don't know about anything there. if you want, check places online or eBay too.... I don't know where would be the best place to get a ring. maybe do a little ring shopping.... check different places before picking THE ONE out....
I wish you the best of luck!!!!

Good luck(^_^) Proposing in front of the castle sounds nice, if you don't mind a bunch of other people being around you. That ring is lovely, but I don't think you'll be able to afford it with $1,000.
I personally think you should go to a local store, you'll be able to find more unique pieces(if that's what you want).

Aww that is brilliant!
The castle thing is wonderful, except it will be a very public place, but lots of girls dig that, but that whole princess thing is very sweet, so do it!
you can get quite a bit for 1000$. I don't know about Kays or Jared's. My finace got my ring from bluenile for $1500. (he got a colourless .5 ct weight, vs2 clarity, ideal cut solitaire in a platinum band).
I suggest that you DON'T go on a payment plan, or charge it without the cash saved up already. Its much more romantic knowing that you arn't in debt up to your ears. Pay with what you have already saved

You've got a romantic soul, dude. Good for you. The ring is way cool. It doesn't matter where you buy it. Kay and Jared's have all those ads on TV, but that doesn't really mean their diamonds are any better than what you'd get at your local jeweler.

The upside to going to a chain like Zales or Kay's, etc. Is that they are all over the country. They have a lifetime warranty and it's easy to keep up with no matter where you end up living.
However, smaller stores may be able to work with you on the price more.
