Being nice and being *too* nice are two different things and used in a different context. When you're being *nice*, it means you're being accommodating and not being rude to people on purpose. When someone says *you're being too nice* what they're trying to say is you're being a pushover.
The problem with being too nice is some people will mistake your tolerance for stupidity and will then take advantage of you. There's nothing wrong with being nice and not trying to make waves but when your being too nice to the point where your principles are being violated then it's time to stand your ground.

Nice people are nice when the stakes are fair. Pushovers are "nice" even when things are unfair against them. Don't feel rude, mean, or dishonest when someone is being unfair.
A kid called my friend a dick for not letting him copy parts of his midterm. My friend is a great guy and very kind.
You've got to ask yourself "is this a kindhearted gesture, or are they truly demanding something unfair from me?"

You don't have to be mean and dishonest to be nice. Treat people with respect, and be loyal. When you feel you are being taken advantage of, speak up for yourself. If you don't they will walk all over you.

You can be nice without letting people walk all over you. It's just a matter of being firm. You need to teach people how you expect them to treat you. You can learn how to be nice and firm about your position at the same time. No one can walk all over you if you don't let them.

while we bend over backwards waay too plenty without thinking our desires besides. while we enable issues that are disrespectful to bypass waay too plenty. while we don't stand our floor and upward thrust up for ourselves while mandatory. i think multiple this has to do with baby-rearing/place- expectancies. it is likewise as much as the different guy or woman to enable us to be pushovers or no longer. some human beings take and take and care much less approximately others. 2-way street!
