Hey--it's a bar--you really didn't try to scam them--at least I hope not. If you get a letter--call the company and get a person to explain it to--work it out. I doubt if the couple of dollars is going to ruin a multi million dollar credit company. Wait to see what happens--if you do have to call--don't forget the calls are recorded and your talking like a fool will not help you. Just explain it--offer to pay--you would have had to pay anyway. if the card is no good, call and see what happened. Pay cash and skip the credit cards--too much trouble. if you can't buy it cash--then you don't need it. Relax and good luck

You received goods (the booze). You are legally responsible for the debt. Even if the card had been accepted, you would still have to pay the credit card company. So you are not out of any extra money. The bar can have your nonpayment of debt put on your credit report. They also can take you to court. You would probably have to pay court costs too.

Go back and pay in cash. Next time something like that happens give the person your ID to hold, go the the ATM, pull the cash and go back to pay the tab. Do they let you do the dishes anymore???

Do they still use cash where you live? Go pay the guy.
